Nothing....according to one post he’s a clueless *rick ...top support

I think the general consensus is for NSC to make substitutions based on total guess work and personal bias. Graham Potter makes substitutions based on what he's seen on the training ground and within the club........what does he know:tantrum:

I consider myself fairly clueless when it comes to football sometimes, but even I can see that GP's substitutions have made a great difference on more than one occasion.

And I still remember going to the Cup match at Old Trafford last(?) season and my Man Utd supporting daughter-in-law sating she thought the Greyhound was the man of the Match. he was tremendous,

But then I'm a Propper fan, so what do I know,

I liked Potter calling him “Galgo” in his post-match interview... “offers something different” [emoji23]

I am a big Greyhound fan but I was sitting here with my mouth open when GP made those substitutions. Inspired management

Really good going forward, not a great defender..... But seeing as thats par for the course for our defenders.... Galgo in.

Yes we've gained a fair few points from Subs and changing things up early enough in the game for them to have a positive impact on the game. At least he doesn't sit with the same failings unitil the 75th minute and then change.

Corrected for you

Don't mean to pick on this thread in particular, but there's too many people too wise about too many players after the event. Greyhound! March! Murray! Humbly suggest that none of these threads would have appeared if we'd lost 2-3. And the evaluation of Potter would have been markedly different.

Guess it's human nature to start a thread that happens to sync with your Albion worldview. Different match outcome, different set of told-you-so's pop up. Same as it ever was

Nah, not having that, I have loved El Galgo from the start and am always pleased to see him on the pitch. Admit to being very shocked that GP brought him on. Maybe he reads my NSC posts :lolol:

Yeah posters were even saying after Ali J purple moment - 'For the last few weeks I've been saying he should start'.

Unbelievable.

In my defense of El Greyhoundo, and this thread, he ALWAYS makes me smile.
I see him, I picture a Tasmanian Devil, I smile.

A few weeks ago I was having it out with a poster who isn't in his fan club.

He couldn't cope with the unpredictableness of the chap, the thing I absolutely love, which is when I dragged out 'Embrace the Chaos'.

Agree giving a year's extension. He will also be important not just for Alexis but as a prime example that with sheer effort and willpower players can come back from career threatening injuries. I don't know of any other footballer or rugby player that has returned 6 months after an ACL injury.

Always liked him.

You could see his unpredictability, pace, passion terrified West Ham on Saturday the moment he came on. The panic was instanteous. From having cigars on the go on their left, the West Ham players suddenly had a problem. Schelotto threatened, March then had space, queue soiled pants in the West Ham defence.

Yeah, good post. To be fair (to myself), I have always said that Ali J is decent; some of his fast passing is so deft it whooshes most watching. I've sat in west upper and gone 'wow, did you see that?' and the bloke next to me just says 'what?'.

The trick is to take a minute or so out of watching the game, and just watch the player. I did that with Upson during the preseason vs Valencia a few years ago, and it was amazing - his anticipation, runs and blocks; you would be unaware if your eye had been following the ball.

Agree about Schelotto. I smile just thinking about him. Embrace the chaos indeed.

Finally, I hate it when people bin off our players and come out with 'get rid' statements, like the player is a slovenly scullery maid from the village. My assumption is we have players in our squad who are anticipated to be able to do a job. Sometimes this means coaching certain things into or out of their game. And then the team selection doesn't always work - the chemistry between players being not quite right on the day. That's where smart coaching comes in. It is a real pleasure for me to see two lads, Schelotto and Ali J making a contribution (and clearly loving it).

There's a good read in The Athletic today about Schletto coming on and changing the game.

Trouble is with that article, it has a lot of references to Stephen's positive passing....and I quote...

"And, almost immediately, Brighton look to get Schelotto in behind. Here, Stephens [passes only backwards or sideways...sic] collects the ball in midfield and sprays a long diagonal pass out wide to Schelotto..."

Seems inaccurate journalism and tactical analysis to me.

Already on the XI to face Watford thread, the side-passer-general is out of the side. What do The Athletic know.

Never seen a player who looks so good 50% of the time and so utterly clueless the other 50 quite like him.
