Actually I think it's mostly the JCLs who started watching the Albion in the successful promotion season (the last at the Withdean) in order to get some priority for their Amex tickets. For some reason they see Murray as some sort of goal machine when he was nothing of the sort. IMHO he was a miserable bugger who never fitted in with the team, popped up with goals which bounced off his lazy arse very so often and had a bad attitude to boot. Surely it's not just me that remembers him like that during his time with us? Good riddance!

It was obvious at the time why Gus off-loaded him, IMHO.

Nothing has changed - yes we do need a good striker but that person is not ffs Murray, never was. Yep I am very very bored with the stupid JCLs who saw just that last successful season and for some reason thought Murray was the messiah. Much of that successful season was down to the rest of the team - and the person we then missed most in recent years was ELLIOTT BENNETT, surely?

My favourite player by some margin the WHOLE time he was with us. Obviously total quality from the moment he joined us but was mostly playing with hernia problems. Pre Gus getting him as a fully fit goal machine he was head and shoulders above most in the team, who gives a shit that he was a bit surly/shy and didn't wave to the fans at every opportunity.

I hate this writing off of him as player when he was here, it's just sour grapes. yes he's gone, Gus cocked up but please let's not rewrite history. He was a joy to watch when fit and on form. The club should have sorted out his hernia problems sooner and perhaps this tag of being lazy wouldn't have stuck.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I haven't an obsession with Glenn Murray so i'm not sick of it at all. It's an item of repetitive tedium, but i'll neither strop nor flounce over the subject's mention or feel an abject sorrow of his wearing another man's suit of armour. I think of what i have and not what i haven't and wish him all the best even if the best for him now is something built to disturb minorly anyone in blue and white.

You lot really dont help yourselves do you !!

I will only ever post here on Palace topics, but there are so many... last month it was Zaha, this month its Murray, who in January ? Maybe an 'is Bolasie the new zaha ?' thread would do it. You could change his first name amusingly. There are about 4 or 5 Murray threads right now, some ironic and oh so witty im sure but they are still there. Go and count how many threads on the entire Holmesdale net that have a Brighton players name in them. I havent checked but im betting none.

What Is it with some of our lot on here and there obsession with Glenn Murray. Personally getting bored of the constant comparisons/ what ifs and we could do with him now, what's he worth, why didn't Gus keep him ...zzzz He has gone to Palace so fkin WHAT...lets move on...I'm sure he doesn't lay awake at night wondering if we are missing him and what if I had stayed at Brighton. The fact is when our new striker arrives and starts banging in the goals it will all be a distant memory as will Palace being in a promotion spot!

:amex:

I havent read any post beyond the first in this thread but dont even know where to start with someone who bemoans murray obsession, then starts a post about Glenn Murray. FFS. :dunce:

Overrated because he is scoring from penaltys where he or Winifred have dived and sticking his boot out 2 or 3 yards from goal for easy tap ins.

It's pretty damn hard to over-rate a player who has racked up 20 goals before Christmas. And you don't score loads of "easy tap ins" without excellent positional awareness.

Newsflash; No-one has ever, nor will in the future, care.
