This option of a further year... What exactly does that mean? Exactly what it says on the tin?

Probably another contract that Mayo and Hart had maybe?
Number of appearances?

That is what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if that was labelled differently. I would imagine that you are right.

I wondered whether the option of another year would be on lesser terms without an appearance related clause in the first year.

Good news all the same.

I'm guessing Wilkins has told him he will play. I actually think this might be the beginning of a cross over with Sullivan as I really can't see Kuipers being offered a deal or accepting it if they intend to get in another keeper.

Let's hope Dick Knight's ready with the cheque book to squander some more of the club's meagre resources on providing 'competition' for a perfectly sound keeper that most clubs would be more than happy to have on their books. I mean, how many keepers has FDM seen off now? Must be a dozen at least.

You mean those who played whilst the old crock recovered from his many injuries and car crash?

The guy has saved us more points than probably anyone in the last 15years or more and you still have to keep on about his injuries.

Do you think he faked them and the car crash or something?

Whats the real story Yorkie did he walk past your autograph book.

Give the guy credit where it's due,he keeps coming back from injuries,he is a true warrior in my eyes.

Not sure hoýw I feel about this. If he's signed on reduced wages from his previous ridiculous contract then fine and I wish him well. If not then it's another example of wasting our money.

How has Kuipers seen off other keepers.

Henderson was forced out by a section of fans, not Kuipers form.
Roberts was "seen off" by having to retire.

Others have either been loan keepers or desperate measures like Petterson and Beasant brought in to cover for injuries.

I am glad that Kuipers has signed and hope he stays fit but there is no way we can afford to have him as the only experienced goalkeeper on the books. Anyone who denies that he is injury prone is kidding themselves.

"Meanwhile Joe O'Cearuill could be on the move to Wigan Athletic."

A London paper carried a small feature about Joe a couple of weeks ago.

He's seemingly aiming to be 'Ireland's Rio Ferdinand'....
