while i would like both, i think both is a waste. Both are fantastic keepers, it would be unfair to keep either of them in reserve. i think Ben Roberts 1st choice (only just mind) and FDM as back up BUT out on loan getting regular 1st team football with someone with an INSTANT call back clause.

that . . IMHO . . . is the best solution

aaaahhh, memories of a thread i posted ages ago, we can see that Mr Roberts won easily back then but now we have seen Ben in action, do we want the FDM back?

I rated Roberts and thought his all round game was better than FDM's, but after the last few matches Ive completely changed my mind. Roberts has looked shaky as hell and you have to question what will happen when there is effectively no competition for his place.

Hes a quality keeper and has proved that he is better than this division, his shot stopping is second to none.

Now I am wondering, if Roberts is so good why didnt Charlton even have him as no 2 and why didnt anyone else want him? BIG question marks over his consistency imo!!!!

BRING BACK FDM!!!!

I love FDM because he opitimsed the spirit under Adams.
When he was in charge I thought we had a chance against any team we played, including Southampton when we er...lost 3-0!!
Same with FDM. When he was in goal I always backed him to save everything.
I think Roberts is the better all round keeper but there is nothing better than giving it the wanker sign to an opposition striker who has just seen FDM pull off an amazing saves.
2 things stick out in my mind:
Penalty save V Bournemouth 4-0
Save in second half V Bristol City 2-1. You know which one I mean!

And what a f***ing song!!
