As you get older, your physical power, stamina, digestive system and mental faculties begin to decline.

What may not be widely realised is that things like your judgement and perspective do as well.
If you were good at something 50 years ago, there is no guarantee you will be even average at it half a century later.

West is BEST
If recent interviews are anything to go by he’s now an almost unemployable, angry, bitter, anti-woke loon who was pretty much bankrupted by his last divorce.

This latest attempt to generate some sheckles is rather tragic. It will be uncomfortable to watch.

Tbf, woke and cancel culture, is ruining comedy. I hate the term woke before you say anything. But I am aware of what it is.

The question is who asked for this?

What large group of fans out there said "what we really need is a newer version of Fawlty Towers".

Woke and cancel culture are responsible for ruining much of todays society . It is not up to A few loud mouthed entitled people to police society .

Seeing as he was supposed to be middle aged in the original series ( ended in 1979) he would be a geriatric by now!

Presume they will get someone else in to play him.

Terrible idea...

He's all 'anti-woke' now, isn't he? It wouldn't surprise me if this was just an elaborate way of him - and people that share his views - to say "You can't say anything anymore" when it fails to get any traction.

Can't these people just leave things alone? Have a new idea FFS!
Yes, sadly I think the same. Unfortunately any new ideas he has are all rubbish anyway, in evidence I give you 'Hold the Sunset' which was shockingly, shockingly bad.

Without wishing to come over all 'woke leftie' I don't think people like Cleese (old men who've had a good run) should still be making TV shows. Sit back, enjoy your retirement, don't tarnish your legacy and let the youngsters have their turn.

The problem is it won’t be as funny because you are not allowed to make fun of anyone anymore in case it offends them !
Quite a lot of the old Fawlty Towers isn't funny any more, because it isn't funny any more. Times change.

Anyway Cleese is now just a fat old gammon who wants to use FT as a vehicle for his whiney old man bollocks.

The problem is most of the youngsters are not very funny . Too woke and all that pc nonsense .
You are either being ironic, or talking out of your arse.

"Well you started it!"
"Ve did not start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland!"
I watched that with a German 12 years ago. She was horrified. I loved it when I was a teenager, but now.....really? ???

I used to think Cleese was parodying a grumpy old gammon, but I'm now beginning to think he wrote FT as a documentary.

I worked for a GErman Company for some years, the whole sense of humour thing is a myth.

The fact John Cleese has turned into a parody of his own writing is another subject entirely. . . .or maybe Connie Booth wrote those bits?

Maybe it's just a strange coincidence that he hasn't written anything remotely funny for his cartoonesque abilities since he split with his co-writers
