Is that the same one where a bloke has an arm hanging off and he asks for morphine? And the medic replies 'Morphine is just for those that are REALLY sick' and walks off. My granddad always reminds me of that scene, for some reason.

Battle of the Bulge, Bridge to Far, Battle of Britain (EPIC), Where Eagles Dare and Saving Private Ryan. In that order for me. I would also go for Kelly's Heroes, but I find that a bit to comedy wise for a warfilm.

Got two favourites, Kelly's Heroes... Loved Donald Sutherlands Character in the film & The Dambusters, absolute classic.

The scene where they capture a beach so the CO can go surfing is brilliant!

Two of my older brothers mates were in the Para's when A Bridge too Far was filmed, they are in the film, in the scene where the officers are opening a map on the bonnet of a jeep, they are standing just behind the jeep.

This piece encapulates more than any other the horrors of war and going " to the line " for me. We think we have it tough, these Men had it tough. Thrown into a " tour of duty " they may not even have agreed with.

(One of) Terrence Malick's masterpiece. Probably one of the most original war films made in the last 30 years. An incredible film whose visuals throughout are stunning. A journey of life and existence. The film is actually something much bigger than just a war film, the setting is merely the narrative backdrop for much much more. Definitely up there with my favourite films let alone war films.
