It works really well with the opening visual title sequence. The accompanying flashing still vignettes are quite powerful and evocative and convey little untold stories just through the mood and expression of the characters and actors in each brief flashing image.

I think they were some of the most moving and powerful opening sequences in television.

I’m too young to know this from the time (60s & 70s?), but remember it from the 90s. I can’t for the life of me remember why, but I had it on cassette.

Was it used for a 90s film or TV show perhaps?

I used to love that too. The BBC broadcast it quite regularly between 1965 and 1982 and then got rid of their original 35mm tapes. When it was subsequently released on DVD it was from 16mm tapes as they couldn't find any versions on 35mm format.

Likewise, I'm (relatively) youthful they re-ran all the "Supermarionation" stuff in the 80's easrly 90's . . . . there was/is a 10" Album I have with all the soundtracks on it ( Thnderbirds, Captain Scartlett and Fireball XL5, with CLIFF!)

My lad really liked thunderbirds when he was 5 or 6.
