What?!Since the demise of the Sussex County League
When did that happen?
What?!Since the demise of the Sussex County League
Hmmm I have old housemates who support Didsbury & Chorlton, I see Bury AFC are also in the quarter finals, that would be nice if they got to the final, fan owned now ever since Bury FC folded.I have a soft spot for Lewes but I'll be watching Peacehaven and next month in their FA Vase quarter-final match and hoping they make it to Wembley.
I have no idea. I remember it being announced but I can't remember when. A local football expert like @jackalbion can probably give you chapter and verse. (I think the pyramid got re-structured). All I know is that when I googled 'Lancing FC' this morning I found they are now in the Isthmian league - South East division. From a Lancing perspective this contains some august names: East Grinstead, Burgess Hill, Whitehawk and Littlehampton to name but a few. These are clubs that in the County League days were usually considerably stronger than Lancing; division one as opposed to division two. Lancing are actually lower mid-table, so despite my first post denigrating them it looks as if they're doing ok; again by historical standards. What?!

Lancing are in the league above what was the County League (Dean Cox is Lancing’s manager)I have no idea. I remember it being announced but I can't remember when. I'm not sure if there is a division below Lancing's one - but if there is I hope Shoreham are in it!
.
On a stronger level it's Steyning as I'm an absolute legend there(well, I played there for 18 months as a teen before going to Uni but I assume they're still talking about my incredible performances for the u18's, reserves and bench sitting for the firsts.)
They're all gone now sadly, fell out with the club for some reason and don't exist now, a real shame.Had some enjoyable times watching Eastbourne Borough, mainly before the Amex was built and my kids were very small. Absolutely freezing there at times on the marshes, and the pitch was quite swampy before they installed the artificial turf.
Seems like Town have a merry band of ultras at their games at the Saffrons, which would really be a much better location for a biggish stadium for a combined Eastbourne club, with what remains of United folded into it. But that's never going to happen, even if on paper it makes some sort of sense.
I've not been back (it's a bit of a trek for me nowadays...)but I'm assuming it's the one of me picking the ball out of the net. I remember posing for it several times a game. Legend.Have you not visited the GNLF Hospitality Suite in the main stand? There’s a statue of course.
Ah the famous Dorking cockTrue, but you will never know the joy of standing and singing "Come on you Dorks!". Which is a most polite song given the "Dorking Seagull".
Its nice to follow a northern team that is a natural parody of that other northern team up Purley way.
No one cares more likeCrawley Town, no one likes us... suits us fine
Surprised no one has mentioned Southwick yet. I have followed their exploits all my life ( Southwick being my home town) but have never seen them play. When I was a boy the Sunday Express Sussex edition always had reports on Sussex County League games. They don’t even get reported in the Herald now. I am assuming they still play in some lesser league following all their financial shenanigans.
Thanks for that info. I was aware of the new clubs, but not au fait with current situation. I await Attila's input.Probably because Southwick FC was wound up in 2020. Southwick 1882 FC was started by staff and fans shortly afterwards and then due to some internal dispute in 2021 all the players and coaching staff left to form AFC Southwick. Both the phoenix clubs are still around I think. @attila is the man with the knowledge of the current situation.
