The problem I find with his endings is that the books are pretty amazing and the endings always seem flat, I always seem to think...oh is that it

A big one for me is Cell, I think the first half of the book is incredible, then after a major event, it seems to go downhill

The Green Mile.

An absolutely stunning effort from all concerned, not to mention the one and only film I have ever cried at.

All the good ones already listed, so I'll list possibly the worst one ever. The Langoliers. Starring former child actor Thingie McThingummy (the hologram bloke from Quantum Leap) and looks like its been filmed on Dom Joly's mobile phone. And what a storyline! King probably nicked it from a six year old's school exercise book. Two hours of my life I'll never get back.

I'd be thrilled if I ever discovered anyone else who has seen it. I'm convinced it's only me.

I watched it once years ago, I thought it was so bad it was good and ended up buying the DVD a few years later. I've never watched that DVD.

Is it only 2 hours? I thought it was one of those long 2 part films.

My memory is probably being kind to me. You're right, it might have been a two parter, what on earth made me come back and watch part 2??

I watched it too.. If I remember rightly, I thought the first part was pretty good, was disappointed to have missed the second part first time around... Was pretty happy when I managed to get hold of both parts and was disappointed to find the second part was utter toilet.

I'm currently struggling through the final book of the Dark Tower series. I hope to God they don't make a film of that...

Shawshank is a brilliant film. Not seen many of the others, but read loads of the books.

I loved Misery - read it cover to cover in one night. He's much maligned King, as a purveyor of pap, but that book shows he does have a real skill. To produce a gripping story with only a couple of mundane characters in one location. Remarkable writing.

I hugely prefer that to cop-out monsters / ghosts / aliens nonsense.

They’ve just shown the first part of Bag of Bones on TV in the States. Based on the first episode it’s not terrible but not that good either. Pierce Brosnan is not really the right choice for Mike Noonan and they seem to have made a lot of changes. I’ll watch it out but I think it goes to show that, with a few notable exceptions, adapting King’s novels for the big screen rarely works.

Agreed. Misery is a cracking read (I was also rather TICKLED by the missing e's in the passages where you were reading the novel-within-the-novel, after his typewriter broke).

Another good example of King writing a book where about 3/4 of it takes place in one location with minimal number of characters is Geralds Game, where that SLUT ends up alone and handcuffed to the bedposts after the fat bloke who was boning her dies of a heart attack.

Good stuff. Good stuff.

Carrie. Didn't realise it was the first Film he did/had done. Edgy from start to finish.

Shawshank is a better production and is a great film, but it doesn't have Johnny T in it.

All over the place
Shawshank is my fave film of all time. Misery and Green Mile are up there too. I've also seen the Langoliers and like someone else said, it was so bad it was good, except it wasn't. The ending was utter dogshit.
