They are all utter genius, disappointed at no votes for Edna, but then I'd probably vote for Ralph, or Sideshow Bob.
How about the Cape Fear one when he keeps treading on a rakes after he gets off the boat?
Thwack! "grrrrrr"
Thwack! "grrrrr"
Thwack! "grrrrr"
And so on.....plus the one where he convinces the Parole Board to free him on the grounds that his "Die, Bart, Die" t-shirt is simply German for "The, Bart, The".
LOL, Edna is fab and really reminds me of a lonely, highly-sexed, middle-aged English teacher I used to have. I'm sure many of the characters are based on real people.
Mastermind the other day had a guy whose specialist subject was The Simpsons. I got more than he did.
But then I've got them ALL on video, up to season 11. After that it's shit. Done to death. And a travesty IMHO. It's painful to watch today's episodes - they're just not funny. And it makes me sad.
That's the trouble with a good and successful series. They're cashed in, flogged to death and diluted to the extreme. They should quit while they're ahead. Fawlty Towers remains an enduring classic for this reason.
Superintendant Chalmers: SKINNER, Is that your kitchen on fire?
Principle Skinner: No Sir, It's.......errr..........Aurora Borialis!
Chalmers: The Northern Lights? At this time of day, at this time of year and in this part of the country, located entirely within your kitchen? May I see it?
Skinner: NO!
