In the lovely (sic) Geography Tower at Aber?

That's right, hate walking up it though, students aren't allowed to use the lifts:angry:

Edit: Sorry about the small picture, only one I could find. Walking up some 10 stories isn't fun after you've had to walk up bloody Penglais Hill:(

That sounds like Paul Watson; he taught me at Varndean. He was a great teacher, one of the best I had. I wouldn't have called Latin poo though, it was one of the few lessons I liked forward to.

Sadly, the fact that no-one has named any language is his/her favourite lesson suggests that the UK's reputation as a nation of monolinguists persists.
Piggy Watson was a great teacher, I just couldn't get my head around Latin, mainly because it is a language which serves no purpose aside from being the root of much of English.

Learning German was made much easier by having spent five years doing Latin: although it would have been more helpful if I'd spent five years doing German from the age of 11.

However, Latin did come in useful once. I was staying in Germany with a work colleague and as the hotels were full, we were in a private house. The head of the house spoke no English, so in order to have a conversation with us (as my colleague spoke no German), he used Latin.

So it was that I heard about the sinking of the Herald of Free Enterprise in Latin.

Probably History for me, thought the French revolution was cool, along with the prelude to WWI.

Economics was great too, and certainly contributed to my liberal view on the world today, and sowed the seeds of a dodgy career.
