Mark from the Mob lives over a field from me at http://rockawaypark.co.uk he's one of the loveliest people Ive ever met.
Get yourself there, it's ace.
Yes I have been there, I have joined his church and I am a share holder in his record producing company ( not that that seems to produce any records )

He is a top man and the mob are going to play Rebellion later this year.

Just posted this in the other music thread before seeing this one, extremely relevant song from the last Trump term that's unfortunately relevant again today.

Although not necessarily political, Gojira always make music about important topics, impossible to select one but here's four.

First is pretty obvious in its topic, second about the abuse of animals in our food systems and third is about the Amazon natives and the effects capitalism and deforestation is having on them, fourth is about the Tibetan genocide. Topics you don't often see brought up in music and all incredible songs.

Alien Weaponry, a Māori groove metal band also released another banger about the suffering and abuse of the native population at the hands of colonisers.

If number of times posted on this thread defines NSC's favourite political song, then this is it.

And well deserved
I was tempted to post the version by the writer, with the Chet Baker solo, but this is also worth posting.

When I lived in Yorkshire back in the 1980s, in the middle of the Thatcher era when all the mines were closing, I used to go to folk clubs a lot. This song was constantly sung, usually accompanied by a collection for the striking miners. It’s a personal thing but every time I hear it, it evokes that chaotic and rather sad era that I don’t think many in the south truly understood.

Cuyahoga by REM from Life's Rich Pageant. It's a beautiful song first and foremost, but the Cuyahoga river in Ohio is famous for spontaneously combusting frequently due to pollution. So it's a song about the dangers of pollution. Good luck with that!

Some amazing suggestions here and others I do not know but will investigate more.

The line in White man in Hammersmith Palais about Adolf Hitler made me realise that music was more than singing about love.

Oh, and ‘ birth school work death’ by the Godfathers is a nihilistic protest on the way our living Routine is structured.
