My uncle dated her in the early 70s. Never ever thought anyone would even know who she was

She'd have been a little old for me, my Dad bought home this promo on vinyl as he worked for Coke. The New Seekers appeared on Tv with their version and I recall experiencing odd stirrings in the shorts dept.

Yeah a bit older than me as well. I would have been about 10 years old and one of my uncles brought her along to a family New Year Party. She would have been on her 20s at the time and she was already famous.

I recall she had a brown mini skirt dress and really heavy blue eye makeup. Back then it wasn't every day that a well known famous person came to our small town to visit. She was from Perth if I recall correctly ?

Cannot stand NYE, biggest over priced, over exploited, over hyped night of the year, I'd rather have a couple of pints with friends, raise a quick glass at midnight and knock the year on the head!

As opposed to Christmas Day, which is to my mind the biggest over priced, over exploited, over hyped day of the year..

Used to really enjoy it. We'd leave our desks at 5 and head down to the company social club. A couple of hours later wander over to the Burrell and then make our way to the Witch in Lindfield for a few. A stroll up to a few pubs in Lindfield High St and back to the Witch for the witching hour. Then all the pubs introduced ticketing and it's never been the same since.

NYE is always the best night of the year, everyone is out, people you rarely see out make the effort and I don't begrudge the landlords for making the events exclusive and ticket only affairs such is the popularity of the night with the general public. Tomorrow will be very strange but at least the TV companies seem to have some decent quality shows to see in 2021.
