highbury was brilliant - you just got a real sense of history when you went into the place, and despite being made all seater it was still an old-style ground. great memories from when rotherham drew 1-1 all their and took their reserves to penalties, cesc fabregas debut no less!

hillsbrough for the same reason in that it just oozes history and generates a great atmosphere, and old trafford simply because it is the theatre of dreams

oh, and "old style" millmoor with the old main stand, terracing behind the goal, the smell of bovril and the incesant ramblings of elderly yorkshire gentleman - it encompases everything football should be!

Aldershot for me - cracking place to watch football.

the scenic walk through a forest to get to the away end is somewhat unique!

cambridge - that brings back memories! especially after the friday night game when rod thomas made his debut in 1998, and all the lights had gone out on the path......the costa love bus was not a pleasant place to be for that journey home

combine the terms "no lights on path" and "cow field" and you have a perfectly good reason

Past: I was walking over the Cambridge United pitch (in those days it was worse than Withdean) searching for our seats before the match, trying to look important so would not be chased off, when Brian Horton approached me followed by Mark Lawrenson (all suited up) and asked where the changing rooms were?

I said I came from Brighton (like most of people wandering around the pitch) and they were probably near our seats, which could be anywhere?

The seats were very clever. Beer crates were cemented into the concrete and a scaffolding pole stuck on them and the seat numbers painted on them. They were quite strong and would not break even jumping up and down on them.
