In the light of the passing of the big man, what is your favourite E Street track. There are many contenders and sometimes it changes depending on the mood your in or events around you but for me, Jungleland epitomises everthing that was great about Springsteen and his band.

Only saw them twice, Born in the USA tour at Wembley and The Rising tour at Crystal Palace.

Hard to pick one - but for the sax solo, which is the main thing today, Drive All Night on the River disk 2. (not the best album IMHO, but great song and great sax solo)

For me it's the earlier stuff. Hard to pick one from Rosalita (come out tonight), The River or the acoustic version of Thunder road from the live 75-85 triple album

Backstreets, Dancing in the Dark, Bobby Jean, The Promise, Jungleland.

That's my first attempt at 5, it would change every minute!

EDIT: Had to add, Because the Night!

So many to choose, heard this the 1st time at Wembley 85, and at Shea Stadium 2003 on closing of The Rising tour
Includes superb sax ending by Clarence

Jungleland is a classic, and probably the one I'd choose. The River is also up there, and a random one I have always liked is Downbound Train.

Backstreets, Dancing in the Dark, Bobby Jean, The Promise, Jungleland.

I heard the "original" version of "Because the Night" long, long after the more familiar hit version by Patti Smith. I think it is only on the "Live '78 - 85" set but it totally eclipses even the powerful Patti Smith version. My overall favourites are jointly "Badlands" and "Atlantic City" (the full band version) which highlights all that makes the E - Street band great.

Just listening to the live "10th Avenue Freeze Out" from "Live in NYC" to remind me of the totally OTT rap from Bruce with the even more OTT band introductions, culminating with "The minister of soul, secretary of the brotherhood, do I need to say his name................"

Heaven
Racing in the Street leads at the start of my thoughts, gets overtaken by Thunder Road before the ultimate comes up and is the greatest.....

Jungleland.

RIP big man.
