I hated disco as a kid, but that changed completely simply from going clubbing in Brighton from age 17. We only went initially for the long opening hours and the opposite sex, but my mates and I soon found ourselves loving much of the music played. It evolved into a passiom for many types of dance/disco music, including later, Trance and stuff in the Pete Tong era onwards. I play music a lot including all dance music from my past.

I knew Pete Tong when he was a teenager and was a DJ at The Sheffield Arms in Sheffield Park Sussex, he did quite well for himself.
Anyway I have to go or I will be up all night doing this.
Really popular I know but where did it all go wrong Micheal.

Agreed. But then its pretty much impossible to dislike the Bee Gees, I've found.

What I always found amazing though is out of those three brothers, Barry was a bona-fide 24 carat HUNK, whilst Robin was basically a 1970's Alan Partridge, and Maurice was Bill Bailey. A hugely unbalanced sharing of the genes between those chaps.

As well as the music - what about those late 70s Sussex locations. Mark 1 Escort loaded to the gunnels from Brighton to far flung places like Cinderellas/Stroods, Sheffield Park, Neville Crest & Gun, Clouds all in search of the latest 12 inch sensations: Sylvetser/Funkadaelic/Shalamar/Joe Thomas/Coffee/Tom Browne... And DJs Greg Edwards, Pete Tong, Paul Clark. The precurser to Acid House

I love Disco. Great thread AR! Tramps Disco Inferno is hard to top but I think Donna Summers I feel love is the anthem for the whole genre really. But there are so many contenders, you’d have to dance all week to fit them all in!
