Very good version, I'm slowly getting into Springsteen. The lyrics are actually quite obvious, if not too pleasant.

Gram Parsons spent a lot of time with them down there and this is very un Stones like, no credits from Jagger/Richards though

You have to let the word "Daddy" have the broader meaning that it has, particularly in the US, otherwise it's very creepy.
