Starsky & Hutch was my favourite when I was a kid.

I enjoyed The Bill in the 80s when it first started, weekly 1 hour episodes.
Bergerac.

Heartbeat, always enjoyed watching this.

West is BEST
Wallander has been my favourite in recent years. I liked the original but thought Branagh’s remake was superior.
Enjoyed lots of the Scandi-noir stuff and The Wire. Prime Suspect and Cracker get honourable mentions too.
As a youth I enjoyed NYPD Blue, Dempsey & Makepeace (great theme tune) and all the usual Thursday and Saturday night fare.
I also liked Morse but it hasn’t aged well.

The Sweeney, the Daddy
The Cops BBC 2 series . Ran for 3 series
The Vice, Brilliant, and underrated
Thief Takers. The natural successor to the Sweeney.

Fully agree about 'The Vice'. Hugely underrated. Ken Stott was outstanding as the troubled D.I Pat Chappel.

Not strictly a cop show but a great series from the 60's with an iconic theme tune.

Used to love this, didn't realise it started in 1959!!

There was no messing with Detective Chief Superintendent Lockhart.

In the afternoons they are running Dempsey and Makepiece.
It isn't very good to be honest but my God Glynis Barber was absolute filth, worth watching for her alone.

The Bill. UKTV have their back episodes from S1-S15 on UKTV player, have been watching those as background while cooking etc. Some great episodes and brings back memories of the 1990s.
