I would also like to add Sir Humphrey Appleby to my list.

Wow what a shock, Nibble doesn't like something thats popular. I bet no one saw that coming.

I wouldn't let the things that other people like or dislike get you so worked up.
I may as well point out the glaring irony that you gone onto a positive thread and just pointed out that you don't like that I don't like something.

Eff off Negatron.

Chris Lilley's characters in Summer Heights High.

A personal favourite is Mr G, but Jonah from Tonga comes a close second.

100% this. Mr G is fantastic. Reading through this thread you'd think the last decade and more of comedy never took place. Maybe it's reflective of the ages of posters, but to see Basil, Del Boy, Father Ted characters and Partridge still held up as the cream of comedy characters doesn't say a lot for the many fantastic creations that have come along since.

Seconded the vote for Del Boy,

as as a runner up I would nominate David Brent of Slough paper merchant Wernham Hogg. However I don't find Ricky Gervais' stand up and other shows funny.

I may be one of the only people in the world who finds Fawlty Towers deeply, deeply unfunny.
