Pogues/KM easily.

Xmas doesn't officially begin for me until I've heard it for the first time on the radio. Unfortunatly I heard it last Saturday, bit too early to get christmassy though!!

Exactly the same for me but funnily enough I haven't heard it yet.

Bring it on

-bub bub bubba bub, etc..

christmas (w)rap- kim wilde and mel smith.

though the pogues one, and FGTH are tops.

JONAH LOUIS, surely?

Pogues / Kirsty is second best, behind 'I was born on Christmas Day' by the lovely Sarah Cracknell and St.Ettiene

i wonder which one would get to no.1 this year, if they released it again!:ohmy:

I'm sure it would be Kirsty & The Pogues if that were to happen, and if this poll were somehow representative of the wider body of opinion in the country.

It's not though, because last Monday, Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" was re-released as a single with the tag line "The Nation's Favourite Xmas song" on the case.

What about the 'Wombles and Wombling Merry Christmas' (not the abortion where was mixed with Roy Wood's Wish it could be christmas every day)

Coventry Carol

Lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
By, by, lully, lullay.
Lullay, Thou little tiny Child.
By, by, lully, lullay.

O sisters, too, how may we do,
For to preserve this day;
This poor Youngling for whom we sing,
By, by, lully, lullay.

Herod the King, in his raging,
Charged he hath this day;
His men of might, in his own sight,
All children young, to slay.

Then woe is me, poor Child, for Thee,
And ever mourn and say;
For Thy parting, nor say nor sing,
By, by, lully, lullay.

This is a carol which represents the feelings of the women who were about to have their children murdered by Herod

If you get a chance to listen to it, it is truly awesome.
