Seen some debate on this on Friendface. What is your favourite item and what should/shouldn't be included on a Christmas dinner main course.

Have to admit with some items it depends a lot how they are prepared - particularly sprouts. Boiled for hours they can be unpleasant but sauteed with some garlic and lardons or chorizo, they are a food of the gods.

Parmesan baked Parsnips. My kids would walk out if they weren't served.
Pickled walnuts. I couldn't get any last year and it just wasn't the same. Only time of year I eat them.

Really crunchy floury Roast Potatos are the bedrock of a Christmas dinner.

[Pickled] Red Cabbage for me. Just because its something we just don't have at any other time of the year and I really like it ! (But thinking about it... I do all the cooking in our house and so we really could have it far more often if I wanted!)

Pigs in blankets, the food of gods.

I'm disgusted by the supermarket driven downsizing in pre-packed PiB's , you have to have a full sized Chipolata or its only a nibble.

Brighton factually.....
Roast Parsnips
Yorkshire Pudding
Cauliflower & Broccoli cheese bake
Peas
Crackling Gammon Joint
Pigs in Blankets
Stuffing
Roast (duck fat) Spuds
Roast Carrots
Bread Sauce

Voted Stuffing but i'm talking sausage meat stuffing here.

Also didn't realise this was multi choice, so would have gone with sprouts too, but shredded sprouts pan fried with lardons and chestnuts.

I shall be alone again this Christmas because:

1) Nobody likes me
2) I don't like anybody

I shall be having gammon, red cabbage braised in port, buttered sprouts with Portuguese black pudding, pigs in blankets a bottle of malbec some Cazcabel and a nice little drop of oramoph.
