Favourite CALAMITY Goal Conceeded This Season

Hinsh. I've watched it over and over again trying to work out how the f*** that happened. Such a weak backpass that seemed to accelerate as it neared the goal, the fact that he passed it AT our goal just as the keeper had moved to the left side, the seemingly total lack of pressure on the defender as he passed it. And the sublime finish as it nestled firmly into the bottom corner of the net just out of reach of the desperate goalkeeper.

Beautiful, yet pure shite.

Can someone put it on youtube? I want to relive the glory and I can't wait until the end of season DVD!

But the cock-up between Kuipers and Virgo was sublime. The timing, the graceful swing of Virgo's leg for the airshot, the split second where neither of them knew where the ball was, the trundle of the ball into the empty net, and the sea of disbelieving, horrified faces behind that goal. If they ever attempted to re-create that moment, they could never do it justice.

They'll be writing stage productions and musicals in honour of that goal.
To be fair, it all still left the striker with a little bit of work to do. He did still need to roll it into the net, and the size of the part of the goal that remained unprotected was actually quite small by the time he tucked it in.

On the other hand, Hinshelwood's back pass did all the work for the opposition. The opposing strikers didn't even need to apply any pressure to invite the mistake. It really was a fabulous effort.

Never in my life seen 2 air kicks like that before and after Whing had clearly fouled the goalscorer, who managed to keep his composure and balance whilst Virgo and Kuipers played out this black comedy with Laurel and Hardy precision-like timing.

Precisely. I can see a choreographer finding it very difficult to get the actors to re-enact that one when 'JPT -The Musical" comes out.

However, they are working on this one using kids of Rudyard Kipling School, Rottingdean

COX'S disallowed own goal was amazing!

When you're lucks not in, decisions like that will always go against you. It just wasn't Coxy's day.

Oh and I must write my letter to Sky Sports and demand that they air an episode of Taxi on Soccer AM starring Nicky Forster, Michel Kuipers and Adam Virgo. Triple header.

Eh? What did Forster do? Oh wait you mean the miss against Carlisle don't you! Those pesky bobbles!

For me it's Kuipers at Northampton. We shouldn't have still been in the game when it was 1-1, Murray then scores a blinder in injury time so we defend deep and go and f**k it up big time.
More easy points thrown away due to collective and individual carelessness and that's when I started to think that we might end up struggling this season.

I've got to say, it's not often a season is blessed with so many choice efforts. I can hardly decide...Hawkins has the spectacular factor, Hinshelwood's seemed to stop time as we all stood aghast, realising what was about to happen...but I think for sheer bungling, Chuckle-Brothers-style ineptitude, last night probably just edges it for me. The occasion, and the first minute timing are the clinching factors.

Also worth a mention was Elphicks six yard box clearance on Saturday against Carlisle. Unfortunately it was one of our goal bound efforts he cleared.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
1st - F (classy defending - not)
2nd - E (classy finishing - but wrong end)
3rd - H (classy time to pick - semi-final 2nd minute)

It HAS to be The Hawk's fully-prone, bullet-header for me. If you could bottle it & pour it out, it'd be class in a glass.

Magnificent. :whisky:

Hinsh for me, totally no danger until he hit it.
