How soon is now?
This is quite a warming thread for me as my dad managed the Piranhas and my uncle was in the Lillettes, and looks after the punkbrighton website to this day. Both top blokes(and yes, i'm very biased)

the most chart successfull brighton(hove actually) stream was the Rockey Sharp variants.
Darts being the most prolific,Mary Wilson and Rockey sharp and the Replays grabbing a few Top Of the Pops airings.

Chuffed to see the Popguns mentioned as I am also an ex-member. I used to get a lot of grief in far flung parts for wearing the Tesco Nobo shirt on stage (it was those times). Come to think of it, what was I thinking...?!

anyone remember a band called pookiesnackenburger ? dont know what they were like but the name has stuck in my head .

John Helmer who was in pookie etc etc was originally in the Piranhas. They released 1 album(maybe 2) but were originally a busking band

Wasn't Luke Cresswell in Pookie, and later went on to found Stomp? Could have that completely arse about face.
I used to do some design work for the company John Helmer worked for about three or four years ago. I remember seeing him on the night he got made redundant. But I don't think he remembers it.

Nope, thats all correct.
John Helmer is now a published authour - whether that pays his mortgage I don't know. Boring Bob Grover now has a new band called Dates, don't know whether he's still playing Tom Hark and Zambezi though....
