Ummm guess! Yes it does taste better in Ireland and it tastes absolutely crap out here in Japan (apart from the canned stuff from the imported booze shop in Ebisu!). A good pint of Extra Cold Guinness with my mates in the Duke of Welly on a Saturday morning is the number one thing I miss from home.

Also loved Summer Lighting in summer and Harvey's Old in winter.

Out here a big freezing bottle of Malts drunk from a tiny and often refilled glass is the best I've tasted.

Stella's just bloody awful, gives me a headache drinking it and all my mates call it Wife Beater.

You can't beat a drop of Harveys (although I had a nice pint of Shepherd Neame's at the County Ground the other day).

If I drink cold lager, then it has to be Budvar (or any other Czech beer).

the absolute best beer is Budvar, with Strapoman and Pilsner Urquell very close second. Basically Czech beer rules.

But usually drink Guiness as is the only decent widly available drink. Dont believ all this crap about irish stuff being better, it just depends on how well the landlord keeps it.

On the Stella thing i think is the best common lager - compare it to fosters and carling etc and it looks a class act...

Do you enjoy paying £5 a pint in a pub as well?
Have never seen the logic in buying beer in bottles in a pub. Why pay twice as much for the same stuff? :nono:

Tastes totally different out of a bottle though. I dont really drink pints of bud, I would plump for a pint of castlemaine over a pint of bud. But a bottle of bud is heaven sent. IMHO.
