Walkabout can actually be ok, they have some pretty decent live bands in there on occasions. Like the Fiddlers Elbow and The Smugglers.
Haven't been clubbing for yonks so can't answer that one.

Haven't clubbed in Brighton for Years.......then again haven't clubbed anywhere in years.

Must admit, I too enjoyed the Hungry years in my youth. Also enjoyed the Gloucester and zap. I went to Subterfuge a few times, but it was too gothic for me.

As for pubs, my favourite was the Druids, with that little bald headed fella called Heinz.............I presume he is still not working there?

I think the worst club ever was Coasters!!!!

I think I'm showing my age!

Current fav pub is the Full Moon in Boyces Street if in town (Park View or Badgers Watch if slightly further out).

Club would have to be the Honeyclub - never had a bad night in there.

Club: Hungry Years (Rock Disco)

NOOOOOOOOOO! Not the Hungry Years. Ecch. Although I suppose its unfashionability in the era of punk had to be admired!

The Reggae/Soul nights down the Concorde in that era were great though.

As for pubs it has to be the Nelson in Brighton, but agree the Gardeners and the 'Arms in Lewes are the best there. Honourable mention for the Swan, too.

Now if you are talking best pub in Sussex, who knows the Brewers in Hadlow Down??

Fave pub Conqueror, I haven't been clubbing for ages and never really enjoyed them. I prefer late night bars which is great now we've got the new laws:drink: :drink: but at a push Casablanca

I do and can categorically state that it is NOT the best pub in Sussex.

Pubs: king and queen
Clubs: The zap before they f***ed it up (heard a rumor it's making a return, anyone know if this is bullshit?)

Thank God for that. Union has got to be the worst club "refurbishment" ever.

PUB: Has to be the Evening Star, is there a better drink selection in Brighton?

CLUB: Toughie. I used to like Gloucester on Alternative night but for more recent times I'll go for the Ocean Rooms for the Fish Brothers night and the fantastic Joe Strummer tribute night last weekend.
