Saw him early on at the Brighton Centre.

Loved much of that kind of music with my mates. I only found out literally the other day (in a Thomas Dolby interview on 5Live) that it wasn't cool the time. I was surprised as it was well past punk, and the main alternative for 15 and 16 year old then was old fashioned, greasy and uncool ACDC/Saxon/Rainbow.

We liked new wave too, which was inter-linked with synth music,
