Favourite away ground

My favourite away ground is Hillsbrough, the size of that away stand is enormous and the view is excellent.

Well we always concede a goal in the last minute, anyway; which always feels like losing.

Therefore horrible place.

Good places:-

Huddersfield: the "there is life after Mickey Adams" game
Rochdale: The Cemetery (even though we never win there)
Newcastle: 1979: 3-1, Horton, Ward and Ryan

Its Plymouth for me and I refer to the previous mail about Home Park.

Easy for me to reach,and the train means I can have a lemonade or two.

But next visit,please give us a referee who keeps up with play,knows the rules and applies them fairly to BOTH teams.

5-1 spoiled my day out!

Liked Exeter for the same reason,Torquay is also a good visit,but I always liked watching the Albion at Wemberley!

For some reason Ipswich is my fave ground. The view aint as good as some but it seems to be an old ground made good and he locals seem friendly enough too.

Mind you in the lower leagues my fave ground was Mansfield! But it did have that cracking pub just outside.

For some reason I used to like going to Barnet. f*** knows why.
In more recent times I enjoyed my trip to Bristol City the year we won the league. And Wolves was great three years back when we were on sky and Kuipers made that OUTSTANDING double save. One of the few times I've seen a save receive the same reaction as scoring a winning goal.

I like Peterbrough with terrace behind the goal, I remember the game where we won 1-0 with Zamora scoring, that was a great day.
I also agree with the person who said Loftus Road, thats usually a good atmostphere.
And also the Madjeski because I've got great memories of that night when we won 2-1 there, that was superb.

Agreed. Cos it's a short train trip it means a tube back into London for a curry etc.

Although Barnet goes close.

For a long trip Sheffield is good, easy via the train and the capital of Wetherspoons!

Best atmosphere away of all time for me was probably away to Brentford once when we were in the Red and Black Milan kit and someone let off a few red flares. The smoke got caught under the stand and gave it a special atmosphere. I thnk it was pre MA as the Gypo (Darren Freeman) played for them.

Upton Park. Always been excellent atmosphere, especially some London derbies I went to in the eighties. Now I have last year's magnificent result to remember as well.

Millenium Stadium - great atmosphere, great views of the pitch, huge capacity, right in the centre of the town.
