I. Alan Mullery got us to Div 1
2. Micky Adams 2 promotions
3. Brian Horton took us from relegation fodder to very nerar play
offs.
4. Mark McGhee play off winners this year
5. Billy Lane from years in Div 3 South to Div 2
6. Peter Taylor (2nd) for getting promotion
7. Chris Catlin for stabilising the team
8. Steve Coppell for nearly saving a ship that had virtually sunk
due to bad navigation by its Chief Commander.
9. Steve Gritt for managing to save our bacon despite having got us into that position in the first place.
10. Barry Lloyd for getting us to the play offs at Wembley and nearly getting us Beeding Cement works which if he had succeeded would have stopped all our troubles over the past few seasons.
Steve Gritt. Without him there'd have been no Micky Adams, no promotions, nothing. Look where Hereford are now - that's where we'd be, if not worse. Time for the truth - who booed him at his first game?
Not sure why Bensgrandad thinks SG got us into the position in the first place - we were deep, deep in the brown and smelly when he took over.
Steve Gritt let me have a phgotgraph taken with hin.
Micky Adams shook my hand in Cheaterfield. We lost 1-0.
Peter Taylor let me, Teaboy and some others chase him halfway through Hove to shake his hand - the goon had already resigned by this point, and not yet told us.
Steve Coppell is a legend.
Ebeneezer Hinshelwood; I am sure he would have done better given better circumstances.
Jeff Wood. Erm, he did well in Finland?
I have faith in Mark McGhee, although if he lets Kuipers go I am leaving this club.
Do the actions of a manager after they leave the Albion also count?
For example, Micky Adams was arguably the best manager, but since leaving the club, it annoys me when he gets linked with our players, and it would not surprise me if one day he came back and took our best players away.
Peter Taylor and Steve Coppell were great managers, but made themselves unpopular by the way they left the club. However, they have both been very supportive of Falmer and haven't yet tried to raid any of our players (apart from Kuipers to Hull, but that's slightly different).
So Micky was the best manager whilst at the Albion, but Taylor and Coppell have conducted themselves better from our point of view since leaving the club.
