Fat Frank summed up his own capabilities in his post match MoTD interview. Basically, this Chelsea team didn't play in the Chelsea way. No evidence of any tactical thoughts.
Because to him management is all about evoking “the Chelsea spirit” in “the lads”, and, er, that’s about it.

Chelsea aside, I struggle to understand what anyone sees in Lampard as a manager.
It's really quite bizarre, he hasn't done anything in his managerial career to even indicate that he could be a good manager.

In some ways I hope they now win a few of their last games and Todd decides to employ him permanently. The continued meltdown next season would be delightful.

You’re right on both counts!

To quote Simon Jordan we don’t have a dog in this fight, but as an outsider looking in its a total shit show.

With their squad there’s nothing to say they couldn’t have edged past Madrid over 180 minutes, but bringing Lampard back, it’s almost an insult to every who pays money to watch the team?

And their fans lap it up.

There's no way Chelsea would have signed RDZ instead of GPott because the fans wouldn't allow it - 'the fella is a nobody who doesn't understand Chelsea'.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Chelsea are in real danger of going the same way as Leeds under the stewardship of David O'Leary and Peter Ridsdale. That ended well.

The best quote I've seen to sum up their current plight is from the Guardian.

'Chelsea are like buying a 1,000-piece jigsaw only to find there are 2,500 pieces in the box and it’s the wrong picture on the cover. It doesn’t matter if some of the extra pieces are gold-plated or studded with diamonds, it’s still a confusing mess.'

I don't think RDZ would do any better at Chelsea than Potter or Lampard. The whole set up is a poisoned well of faeces.

Love this quote from The Shed End:

"F**k me - That was the worst 45 I've seen us play for years at the Bridge. We are being completely dominated, everywhere. They want the ball, pass and move, and work hard to get the ball back when they don't have it. Even usually reliable players like Chillers are being destroyed. Playing Chalobah out of position against this mob is like walking into Bakhmut armed only with a 12" rubber cock. It's a bloody shambles. I'm terrified that this is the real Mudryk, and if Sterling raises a sweat i'll eat your granny out. I mean take your granny out for dinner. Credit BHA they are playing some beautiful stuff, tbh its so good, our lads seemed to have downed tools to watch and applaud them. But f*k me, that was disastrous."

Particularly like the bit I've highlighted in bold!!!

I’d say Cucerella, Potter, Benny and Bjorn, Ben Roberts, Bruno and Winstanley are an entire pack of former dogs.

Admittedly at least half of them are in need of rehoming and some basic training though.

That post is beautifully, poetically gorgeous. I've sent it to my Chelsea STH mate who missed the match to take a weekend trip to Nice with his wife.
