Yes and yes.

Actually thought they would be more mid-table this year.

I was particularly unimpressed with Derby, when they played us last year and the quality of their football.

Why did you think they would be midtable this year?

They had a team that won a cup, reached the league cup final and finished 3rd?

I also thought that they would struggle, relatively, this seaon.

Hazard leaving was huge. Luiz, though dodgy at times, was another big loss. Higuain also left, and Giroud is drifting away.

Coupled with this, they couldn't sign any new players.

I didn't expect Abraham, Tomori and Mount to be as good as they have been, and I thought Hudson-Odoi would leave.

They are looking much better than I expected.

I always thought this wouldn't be the season of the 'Big 6'.

For me it was the Big 2, then another 2, then 4 (ish) teams.

I'm pretty sure I had Chelsea and Utd with the 'bottom feeders'.
Turns out that should have been Spurs & Utd, which is nice.

The signing of Pulisic was a very good one.

Higuain/Luiz are not a miss really.

I think Abraham was always going to be an improvement on what they had as a striker - Mount/Tomori is true.

Loss of Hazard. (Who really is/was exceptional)
Unhappy Willian (in the summer)
No decent attack (Abraham has done better than I expected, though was poor against us)
Untried youngsters at this level, (you’ll win nothing with kids). [emoji6]
Manager who looked tactically naive at The Amex....

That’s mainly why..... they’ve done better than I’d anticipated.
