Sunday sees the first top 40 music chart where downloaded music can be entered into the chart.

I thought this had already been happening for a year? Otherwise how did Gnarls Barkley become the first song to top the charts on downloads alone?

So, what you are suggesting is that we might see 'Come Outside', 'There's a Hole In My Bucket', or 'Huggin and a-Kissin with Fred' take over from Razor lite, ineffectual wimpy 'You're Beautifoo-ool' soloist shite, and oasis?

The difference in the rules are that a song no longer has "to be entered" into the singles chart - the idea is that it should help artists that are just starting out

I was hoping that the change of rules ment more unsigned artists would chart rather than all this plastic pop that is around
