Sunday sees the first top 40 music chart where downloaded music can be entered into the chart.

I thought this had already been happening for a year? Otherwise how did Gnarls Barkley become the first song to top the charts on downloads alone?

Marvellous ...

Popular music is being stolen back from the generation that has proved it has no taste.

So, what you are suggesting is that we might see 'Come Outside', 'There's a Hole In My Bucket', or 'Huggin and a-Kissin with Fred' take over from Razor lite, ineffectual wimpy 'You're Beautifoo-ool' soloist shite, and oasis?

Does your chewing gum lose it's flavour on the bedpost overnight?

The difference in the rules are that a song no longer has "to be entered" into the singles chart - the idea is that it should help artists that are just starting out

Excellent. Wendy Richards' career will be relaunched. What's she done since that record established her as Top UK Entertainer of All Time?

Why does Chris Moyles feel the need to keep getting old songs back in to the charts?

I was hoping that the change of rules ment more unsigned artists would chart rather than all this plastic pop that is around

Apparently none of the Beatles stuff is available for download yet. When it is made available the demand will be huge and they expect the Beatles to take over the whole top ten!
