So although a bit of a knob he is democratically elected to a Union that he wants nothing to do with. Ok I'm getting there. Better not tesign though what with his wife getting 27k for secretarial works on behalf of him besides his 175k- with expenses of course - because she would be well pissed off with him

You pro EU characters just get this democracy thingy do you.......

The British Parliament has over 50 SNP MPs, plus Plaid and Sinn Fein.

Should these MPs not be able to attend and obtain the financial benefits as other MPs?

They are taking this straight from the British taxpayer........

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/new...inn-Fein-claimed-500000-for-second-homes.html

So, are you for democracy or a dictatorship?

The Telegraph article is about Sinn Fein fiddling and you say Farage has those same rights ? Am I reading this right ?

You can be worried all you like about a perceived loss of sovereignty to the EU but compared to how much of our democracy we are about to sign away with TTIP it's absolute chickenfeed.

You are bang on the money (no pun intended).

It will be interesting to see how the pro EU brigade react to the prospect of a forced privatisation of the NHS as a consequence of TTIP, an agreement being conducted by the high priests of capitalism in the EU Commission...........what will they support, the NHS or the EU?

Corbyn has been banging on about this for ages.......

A eurosceptic Labour leader., just like it used to be.......happy days.

Hmmm, I could edit the post but you knew that word should have been added in the sentence......I will leave it as an ironic oversight.......it does not change the point.

The article indicates fiddling, but nothing has been paid back and neither McGuinness, Adams or any other SF MP has been charged with fraud.

The facts are that SF use the expenses available from being MPs, TDs MEPs and MLAs to fund their party and its activity.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-30204080

Why wouldn't it?

Do you think the SNP, Plaid Greens and any other minor party is doing anything different with their expenses?

Do you think the EU Parliament works any differently?

Your argument is just anti UKIP because you don't agree with UKIP............your bigotry is so consuming you can't rationalise how the system works.

If disagreeing with UKIP and thinking Farage is a prick makes me a bigot then I'll take that every time thanks Fergus.

Yes, use of the word 'Bigot' in that missive was rather misplaced.

You are entitled to your opinion, however as this thread and your contribution demonstrates your attack on UKIP is not based on any rational analysis but driven by your narrow minded prejudice because of what you believe UKIP stand for.

If it was rational your contribution would be about the system that enables MPs and their political parties to derive financial benefits from taxpayers, this is however a much wider debate and would essentially be an attack on the financial arrangements of all minor parties that rely on money from MPs etc. not just UKIP.

In the EU context it would also mean looking at the far less transparent system of expenses/benefits and how this financial largesse is a burden on EU taxpayers at a time when the same EU politicians are imposing austerity on countries like Greece, Spain, Ireland et al.

But, as your comments demonstrate, it's not this system you despise its just UKIP and their access to this money courtesy of the overwhelming democratic mandate they have secured in the EU elections.

I suspect you would normally consider yourself an open minded liberal type.........yet really you are just a mirror image of the kind of person you despise.

Yes, use of the word 'Bigot' in that missive was rather misplaced.

Dictionary definition of Bigot:

› a person who has strong, unreasonable beliefs and who thinks that anyone who does not have the same beliefs is wrong.

An attack on UKIP for doing what all other political parties do is unreasonable...........denial of of merely franks the strength of such unreasonable belief.

There are a lot of Bigots about these days.

So the term 'bigot' could apply to anyone, including some of the UKIP 'zealots' on NSC.

Fair enough.

We shall raise the UKIP vote a couple of hundred thousand to satisfy the UKIP supporters. Makes no difference really. We will be staying in the EU despite the vocal minority.

Vocal minority Dave?....bit like the Labour/Union support then.
What this country signed up to was a Free Trade Area....not a political monolith,I vote to elect politicians to rule the country, not another European who I have no power to deselect.

Vote for who you like mate. Its a democracy, but if you think the UK will be leaving the EU, then I think you are mistaken.
Vote for politicians who will help mould the EU, rather than a bunch of UKIP clowns who spend the majority of their time trousering expenses, missing important votes that affect the UK, and swilling beer in the parliament bar.

And of course...Kinnock,his wife...his two siblings...all work for the EU with their researchers and secretaries for nothing...nepotism at it's best...isn't Kinnock on an anti corruption in the EU ....fine job you're doing Neil, for an organisation that has not ratified their accounts in 14 years.

Why is anyone still discussing this clown. The usual right wing lot think he's amazing because he says he wants to leave the EU. What he's actually DONE to represent those that voted is NOTHING. He never shows up and when he does he spouts crap and gets the piss taken out of him. He's a democratically elected skiver.

Democratic? Maybe but democracy is just two foxes and a chicken debating what to have for lunch.

If you asked class of 5 year olds whether they wanted to do some work or eat ice cream in the playground, what do you think they'd vote for? Quite.
