The UK does do some questionable things around the world, and that IS putting it lightly, the Blair governments actions in Iraq were beyond criminal but I still think there is a difference between that a publicly suggesting releasing the Ebola virus on thousands of men women and children, living quite legally, just because of their race!

I have no doubt that is the way he thinks but reporting something as "by extension" undermines the report. It adds interpretation that I can draw myself if I am presented with what he actually said. I do not need to be told what to think.

Whilst maybe unpalatable Le Pen has discussed two totally separate subjects at two separate events which the Guardian has conflated with the phrase 'by extension' in the byline - to which you have then added even more wild exaggeration to state that the FN would wipe out 'immigrants' in France!!

I just linked the first story on google, check it for yourself there are many versions from media outlets around the world covering the story, I have no more faith in The Guardian, it was just first on the list

You're not getting it. 'By extension' means how does the private ramblings of a senile old racist at a cocktail party become official policy of a party he hasn't lead for quite some time? I note that he tempered his words when later addressing a rally. It rather suggests that his private views are not widely shared as you claimed.

Once again, it was the private ramblings of a well-known racist. I'm not denying his views are despicable but it's certainly not FN policy, formally or informally and it's impossible to ascribe his private views to that of the whole of his party. The fact that he doesn't say these views publicly does suggest as I've already pointed out that they are just that - personal views.

I'm not defending the FN here, there's enough mud to sling at them for what is party policy without wrongly attributing this sort of thing to them.
