Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I know that Mr 10 and others are very good at their 'believable stories'. I have been asked to write an April fools joke for my company to send out to clients.

It has to be something to do with housing, perhaps a madcap scheme to solve the housing shortage etc.

NSC I am begging for some help here.

How about increasing the stamp duty threshold from £120000 to £125000 - that would just be a MASSIVE BOOST :jester:

Having a house share system where night-shift workers use the house during the day and dayshift workers use it during the night.

Stacking caravans four high, with steel supports in between. An apartment block of caravans (120+) is due to be erected as a Sussex University project into providing cheap affordable housing for students/travellers. A site near to Village Way, Falmer, has been identified..................

New trend towards alternative housing sees a massive rise in people living on houseboats, caravans (sorry 'Park Homes') and treehouses.

A pilot study in Croydon proved highly successful, so I hear.

Park Homes are for OAPs , caravans are for travellers (and/or Palace fans).

A scheme involving hollowing out the Downs to provide housing, after all if may get around the planning issues as a tunnel could lead all the way to the marina and as long as the bloke in the top flat doesnt have his bass to high nobody would know there are there

For office workers, houses will no longer be available. Every office will have a sleeping room, a kitchen, a bathroom and (of course) a shagging room..............

The idea was based largely on british backpackers in youth hostels in australia.

The housing supply that this will create will be used to handle the overspill of teenage mum's from Croydon & Whitehawk but they must produce enough kids to meet the specs of the house

e.g. a teenage mum, her sister and her 45 year old "boy"friend move into a 3 beedroom flat in blatchington road. Her boyfriend, her and baby in 1 room and her sister in the other. Already, she must pop out 2 more kids to fill the extra room (or adopt a child of 3 years or older). Her sister plans to move out, aware of this she must get busy.

2 for the price of 1 there!

How about spreading the word that Albania is the new Bulgaria and that you can buy a barn with a twenty acre olive grove out back for about seventy five quid - tho the owner can be talked down to a round sixty quiid with his first-borm mule thrown in. Send the a charter flight of grasping 'Place In The Sun' greedheads out there on an inspection flight and watch the fireworks.

How about a scheme to beat the changing climate and rising sea levels. The goverment are going to trail a scheme to build underwater "houses". This will involve all mod cons including being totally powered but the tides.

How about a new integrated approach to housing, health, employment, childcare and liesure. Instead of seperate buildings, a new multipurpose one will combine all of these functions, occupying less space, using less power and requiring no commuting for workers/residents etc. Sort of modern workhouses, you could go into waste water recycling or that a hot-flats could be a feature for single shift workers (a la hot-desks). Trouble is, its all a bit too believable....
