Would any of you like a bet? I know some individuals circumstances may prevent them from doing so, but there seems to be enough of you who think we're going down - one of you must want a bet?

Come on. Put your money where your mouth is.

If we play like we did today all season (playing almost all teams WORSE than Millwall), there is not a chance we will go down.

Hopeless optimism. What on Earth have you seen recently that makes you believe we'll comfortably stay up?

Incidentally I think we will stay up, because our players year after year seem to not give a f*** until they absolutely have to i.e. Last season, our survival season, promotion under McGhee etc.

How many chances did we create today?

Hit the post...goal cleared off the line...thats roughly as many as Millwall (who are SIXTH) had all game...just off the top of my head.

We are only just around the corner from another nightmare run of fixtures, playing the top four teams within five matches. Realistically, anything more than a nil return will be a bonus. Unless we do something daft like win both matches prior to that we are likely to end up back under the dreaded dotted line after these fixtures.

I do think we'll stay up but unfortunately I don't think that there is going to be any mid-table comfort. It's going to be a very hard slog.

I'm confident we will stay up although I'm not as optimistic about finishing in mid table - I think it will be close, somewhere around 18th or 19th place. That would do me, and giving Gus a full summer to get the players in that he wants and those out that he doesn't I don't predict a relegation battle next season.

Change that to...." the top 7 teams in 9 matches "
We have already lost the first of those nine and only Orient ( a ) and Exeter ( h ) seem to offer chances of victory.
After this run of games, we only have 11 left and we will have have to show championship winning form to make mid-table. As this involves actually winning home games, then its more likely that it will be a relegation dogfight to the wire.

So we were desperate unlucky today. I understand that. But for every unlucky performance, there have been two shithouse ones and no wins from any of them.

You can't rule out relegation and 9/2 sounds like excellent value to me.

It will be a close run thing. For some reason I don't wish to have a bet with somebody called Conboy

I reckon 9/2 is a fair price and now is the time to back it. Playing 4 out of top 5 means we aren't going to pick up many points in the near future and come the evening of the 23rd Feb (when we have been tanked at Chalrlton) that price will condense. Can also then lay it off on betfair for a small profit.
