Many have moaned about the adverts in the Opening Ceremony, but watching now, the ceremony announce awards to be made to athletes, so Channel 4 cut straight to adverts.

Bunch of jokers who shouldn't be allowed to over blue riband sporting events IMO!

I actually applaud C4 for their coverage, it has been brilliant and the presenters superb and explained how the categories work.

Shockingly poor coverage of the wheelchair marathons today though, only semed to cover the last 100 yards live, they were just describing how the races were going from the studio before that.

They repeatedly explained that they hadn't been allowed coverage of the marathon by the host organisers - why or what that entailed I don't know but it was clearly out of their control.

Clare Balding has again been exceptional and their use of a wide range of disabled presenters to explain the events has been outstanding. Their late night show in particular has been one of the best pieces of sports tv in years. Agree with criticism of the closing ceremony but they have to fund their coverage I guess and the Beeb didn't even bother to bid did they so it feels a bit mealey-mouthed to be over-critical.

BBC bid £5 million, C4 £9 million

Fair enough, i missed them saying that. Pointless people complaining about the ads though, how else do they think their programmes are funded?

The Last Leg was one of the most impressive bits of TV this year - to go for a comic take on the Paralympics in such a PC world was a brave move but one that really paid off (especially as it wound up the Daily Mail).

Haven't watched a great deal of the Paralympics but I know the Olympic coverage was unbelievably biased.. If Team GB didn't have a chance at winning an event they didn't show it.

This, this, a thousand times this ........... outstanding television

Abort, retry, fail
They were willing to pay more than the BBC. They have to pay their bills and adverts do that.

The BBC clearly didn't value it greatly. They did have the Diamond League Athletics event running alongside at one point though.

Totally agree. Anything that annoys DM is fine with me!

C4's coverage of the Paralympics has ben fantastic and I feel better than the BBC would have done as they reported it in exactly the right laid fashion that it deserved.

Also they have promoted budding sports commentators such as Iwan Thomas and Katherine Merry who have been a revalation and far better than the likes of Colin Jackson.

The Last Leg has been the best programme on TV for the last ten days or so.

Yes there have been too many advert breaks but that is just economics. Well done C4 hopefully they will get more sport remember the coverage of The Ashes when they the cricket it took the sport to a new level.

All horse racing is on C4 now, hence why Claire Balding has joined them. I very much enjoyed that Addy who co-anchored with her, he was spot on with humour and explanation of events.

Absolutely disgrace the USA as showing a 90 minute summary after the event, even Michael Johnson had a real go about this in The Times.

True, It was frustrating when the pundits just sat there talking rubbish when there was clearly events going on in the background. There were quite a few athletic events which never got any live coverage.(at least any I saw.)
