Putting on a fans forum is vergy good PR for club which fair enough is PBs aim. We know Pervis is out until Oct/Nov. Would have been good to hear if March and Mitoma are on track to start season.
Good question about P&R but sounds little likely that it will get better. Was suprised Seagull Travel was costing the family £48 which is a heck of an additional expense to find every game.

The last we heard from RDZ last week re: Estupinan was that he would be back in Sept/Oct rather than Oct/Nov.

I agree with you, but can't see the club signing the number and quality of experienced players he wants and needs. It'll probably be a halfway house that'll end in tears. . sadly .

I agree that RDZ won’t get the perfect shopping list any manager in his position would want but personally I think he only needs enough to maximise our chances to qualify for Europe again - I know tough ask but it wasn’t all about Caceido last season or ‘surprising’ the oppo with ’de Zerbi ball’, our first games in this season were impressive as was some of our Group matches.

I think with a few tactical purchases, the system of football we were playing so successfully at the beginning of this season and last season will be enough to make us really competitive but much will depend on whether Barber is prepared to buy some ‘now’ talent instead of ‘oodles of potential but won’t be ready for another 18 months’ talent.

It will be a sustainability/financial assessment as much as anything else too - eg we could lose over £22m in merit revenue by dropping half a dozen places this season and a low place finish will possibly effect our potential TV coverage next season too - there needs to be a balance but because of a few recruitment target failures last summer/January, my very unqualified opinion from looking on the ‘outside’ is that we probably could have spent more without undermining our sustainability ethos. I do think, our best chance of getting back into Europe next season is with De Zerbi though - otherwise it could take another 2 or 3 seasons under a new manager where he rebuilds the squad in his image.

I commented to @Bozza a number of times that his body positioning seemed odd, particularly at the Stoke game onwards (I know he scored in that one). Always seemed to be at an odd angle to the ball and was clearly way below his previous level.

I'm a little bit in the same boat. I know he's being honest and that's a good thing but I'm not completely comfortable having a manager basically saying, "I'll see how I feel" as to whether he may deign to stay next season. Especially one that has had such a bad a run recently.

I want RDZ to stay but only if he has fire in his belly for the fight - even if he doesn't get all the players he wants. He knows the club model and if he wants to be coach of this fantastic club then I want him to be enthusiastic with working with whatever players he has. He came across well at the forum and there is no better manager than a committed and motivated RDZ so hopefully this is what we get soon.

I think much of what I felt after leaving the FF has been covered. Including perhaps RDZ wishing to answer question how he feels most comfortable even though he missed the pointy of the question, this is either his way or due to his English not quite up to it (no criticism).

Barber is ultra prepared in these instances. He's a pro. Its almost like he knows the questions that will come and has a response lined up. He's very rehearsed and you can see when he has forgotten a critical point and its something that we had heard in a previous interview. He didn;t always answer the questions directly and we know why (re budget transfer policy etc). Masterclass.

My question if I had the bollocks would have been around FFP and in regard to our competition seemingly already punished, at risk or very wary of it while we are making +100m profit......from a timing perspctive have we pulled a blinder and would that tweak the policy slightly? After 20 mins I knew the answer would be avoidence so didn't bother.

2 things to note.......(1) the kids asked the best questions. (2) for all the RBZ bashing over the last 72 hours he got the most incredible welcome and goodbye from the 300+ people.

Totally agree with this but wouldn’t be surprised if the club are already sounding out potential replacement, succession planning. Would’ve thought this needs to be resolved soon as new player choice would be dependent on style of coaches play, plus if the worse were to happen & last 4 games saw no wins, no points no more goals is RDZ really the future?

Mitoma must be near certain to be back for pre-season if the club are planning to go to Japan then.
