Even though I don't like to criticise these forums as at least people make the effort to go, but the tool who did the poetry spending 10mins to essentially ask "Why do we have to use mobile phones for our tickets" really took the biscuit.

No emailed questions answered, partly because this prat wasted 10 mins to ask 1 question.

I thought his poem was amusing, but yes, it did take a lot of time. I am interested in Paul Barber's claim that one can buy a smartphone for £20. Later on he repeated and said £20-£25 pounds. Anyone?

It was basically someone who attends home men and womens games who does not have enough points for the big away games she wants to go to so wants the system changed to suit her situation rather than the current perfect situation that rewards the fans who travel all around the country week in week out.

Yep bloody stupid idea. Fine have their loyalty scheme but don't ruin what works well for the mens. Makes no sense at all.

I heard emailed questions being answered as read out by Johnny Cantor. I also enjoyed the poem.

Afraid I saw the poem as a “look at me” moment, when that 10 minutes could’ve been spent answering more questions, eg what’s the one thing GP and PB would change if they could?

Neither of them had an answer, just an awkward pause, so Cantor moved on.

She had season tickets for both the men and women’s team games. Loyalty to the club or loyalty to the men?

Can you buy a smart phone for £25 ?

You could get a very low spec 2nd hand/refurbished one for £25 definitely. Somewhere like CEX would have them. Probably wouldn't want to do much on it other than call/text/use mobile tickets as it would be crap but it would work.

I had a brief spell of popping along to a couple of these; one of them, during Hyypia's brief reign, I remember knocking over - loudly - an empty bottle of Harvey's in a particularly quiet bit, hitting the metal chair legs. It livened up the occasion and I think I've swerved attending since, but do tend to listen for the amusement factor with most of the questioners. Last night there was the guy who proudly said he'd been a season ticket holder since Withdean, which Mrs D said "So what? Does he want a medal? That's not long..." but we both laughed when we heard the bloke winge about the lactose milk situation, as he (or someone very similar) has made a point of asking that, certainly the last two FFs, if not more. Mrs D even jumped in before Paul to say "I'll speak to catering". :lolol:

The delayed start was I think due to BBC Radio Sussex having the news and weather (dry) from 7pm, so it never starts on the dot of 7pm. Obvious when listening on the radio, but no indication of this when watching the stream.

Re: the moving of the away fans, I really didn't get all the ramble about the acoustics (I guess at least it wasn't delivered in the form of a poem) but can see some value in having home fans behind both goals. The difficulty of course is having the segregated bar/food/toilet area still working; on occasion, the southeast corner has been closed off to allow more away space so maybe there will be a shuffle along to that point of the stadium, made more permanent.

I was pleased intros were generally more succinct, and they seemed to push people to hurry, which was good. I don't even see the need for names and locations, just the question, brief and to the point, would be ideal.

The attention seeking bloke with the cringeworthy poem summed up how much time is wasted at these by people not getting to the point with their questions. JC did his best to hurry him along but he carried ok regardless.

Well he did refer to himself as an old duffer! And to fair, everybody laughed including me and the top table. But despite that, he wasted a lot of time that could have been spent on more questions about almond milk.

PB put him down quite nicely too. Whilst I appreciate the effort in writing the poem, he could have asked that question in 10 seconds. Like the question regarding lactose milk. Asked the valid question, noted, will look at it, move on. 20 seconds done.

Personally I would rather have seen PB and GP sit and read answers to carefully fielded questions for an hour. They’re never going to talk about transfers, tactics, prices etc.

I think the most irritating thing was the questions were relevant, however due to the weird poem, the question got completely missed.

I had no problem with the poem (found it amusing, as GP did .. and inventive although too long).perhaps a limerick would have been better by being shorter…were the points missed..I’m not sure …whilst GP was laughing PB seemed irked, he had a valid point regarding season tickets being kept at the same price and payment can be made over the course of the year interest free which is brilliant…but imo there really isn’t any defence over the £2.50 print at home fee…surely you are using the same technology to enter the ground

JC hurried him up but he was probably the only bad offender ( i think it was just under 2 mins). Aside from that - thanks to JC reminding them frequently - . there was hardly any life stories in people's pre-ambles this time. And sure the questions were mixed but its light and shade and part of the events charm or frustration (take your pick!) . . its a fans forum. Not a press conference. And its a symptom of the club being run well , the owner being respected and loved and Potter at the moment being successful. Do you think it would be this light hearted and trivial if it was Everton or Derby or QPR or Leeds or Man Utd?
