elect one member you would like to represent on the FAB from the following
Andy Goodchild - A lifelong supporter and season ticket holder for the last 30+ years I am passionate about the club and keen to give something back. I attend every game home and away. I have a UEFA B coaching badge and have managed teams at County League so understand the game at all levels. I travel with Blues Away & Seagulls Travel and am active on Social Media so well placed to represent many different sectors. I have plenty of time to invest in this project. I believe fans are the most important element of a club and should be appropriately represented.
Chris Maynard - Following the Albion is very much a family affair for me, going back over 3 generations. Away from football I have sat on regional and national boards for major UK companies. My main focus has been on the customer experience in retail businesses but this means so much more when it comes to football clubs where we are all fans first and foremost. I’d like to use my skills and offer my time to help continually improve the match day experience, home and away, and play a part in helping the Albion achieve its goals on and off the pitch.
Lloyd Holman - I'm a passionate fan, along with my son, and have a great understanding of the club's history and culture. I'm committed to transparency and fan representation. I'm passionate about ensuring diversity and inclusivity in the FAB. I'm a skilled communicator and listener, able to build relationships with people from all walks of life. I believe that I would be a fantastic contributor to the FAB, and I would be honoured to represent the views of Brighton & Hove Albion fans, especially the younger generation.
Nikki Gwilliam-Beeharee - Hi, I'm Nikki from Patcham. I've watched and played football all my life and nothing beats how I feel when I watch the Albion. I love the way that football empowers and brings people together in communities all over the world. Having faced restrictions to playing when I was growing up, I’m now motivated to ensure that everyone and anyone who wants to has the opportunity to enjoy football. I’d love fans to experience more moments where they feel proud of our south coast roots, but also explore more opportunities to celebrate the global diversity of our players and supporters.

Agree hard to decide on these few words !! Anyone know more about them??
Yes - they all sound great - well done to all for putting themselves forward.

Yet again won't be voting.

We know from the original vote why photos of the candidates are not shown, but from the names and the few words, I have no idea whether I have a vague idea who these people are.

I see, so some people's criteria for voting for someone is not reading what they say they have to offer, but its as long as they know them. Brilliant.

Those that are able to read can take a look at www.bhafc-fab.co.uk and see what has been going on in the past year. A sound base that the new FAB will I am sure build upon.

I think the criticisms made are largely fair. The amount of information included about each candidate simply isn’t enough to make an informed decision, unless you happen to know someone on the list and have more context to feed in.

If the FAB is going to an effective vehicle to represent a wide cross section of the fan base, there needs to be far more information than a short paragraph on each of the candidates.

My suggestion would be something along the lines of a short YT video for each candidate in which they introduce themselves and then answer a small number of relevant questions. Ultimately, it would be good too to see how these people put themselves across verbally because their role is going to be able communicating effectively.

Just my two pennyworth.

No photos is very disappointing, if you might realise you've met someone before in the ground, pub, train, coach etc and might be more likely to vote for them to represent you if you had a good experience- or not if they were perhaps a bit of a dick.

Also a bit weird that you have to start the voting process to see the candidates, so I've already voted based on the few lines of text on the club website, and not more detail some of them have shared on here and twitter for example.

At least the club are happy to have a youngster in there now but it's a bit of a shame not much of the criticism of last year has been listened to.

Good luck to the FAB, some good stuff on their website and shared on here/in Dogma etc.

If you know someone you are more likely to know more about them than the few sentences they say about themselves.

I could say I`ll be the best Fan Advisory Board member as I`m brilliant at everything.

Whereas people who know me may think differently !!!

I used to work with the second one (and his wife). He was briefly my mentor on a management training scheme. Decent intelligent chap. Solid Albion fan. Obviously got my vote as I've known him. 🤣

Everybody that put themselves forward has had to fill out quite an extensive application form, with a reference from another Albion fan, and questions about why they are suited to the role and what they would prioritise and what skills they bring to the group.

They were then shortlisted down from hundred or so ( i think) to 15 for us to vote on by the existing FAB. Presumably thats why its taken so long.

They are all welcome to campaign i guess and share more info - on here, or elsewhere and some already have done so. They could publish more online about themselves but even a few paragraphs is too much for some and makes it unwieldy.

Congrats anyway to everyone who has stepped up. Credit to them for the time they've spent already getting this far - and good luck.

I don't know him as such but I 'know' Andy Goodchild from the Bluesaway coach. Seems a decent , solid ( he's a big bugger) fan.

That’s all very well, but if the process is for other fans to vote on who to select then we need to know more about the candidates. Perhaps for those that want more info, the application forms could be made available somewhere for voters to read?

I’m not knocking the club at all for the due diligence they’ve undoubtedly done to shortlist the candidates. Just making a suggestion to make the voting a) easier and b) hopefully increasing the overall number of fans engaged with that process. Personally, I have not enough to go on in order to cast a vote. Others may disagree.

I agree. I opened the voting form today and then read through the bios. There's simply not enough information for me to choose one over another. They all sound like decent, reasonable people so how am I supposed to decide? it's essentially a completely random choice.

But I'm not sure what the answer is. Video sounds like a decent suggestion, but the quality will invariably vary significantly, to the benefit of some applicants and the detriment of others. Having numerous videos for the club to review and vet would only further slow down the process too.

Incidentally, next time you hear a Student Union claim to represent the views of XX,000 students, remember that this is basically how the Union posts are filled.
An online vote between lists of people who've all written a very similar paragraph saying they're nice people who really care.
On that basis, I think it's a good idea to omit any photos, because it becomes extremely tempting to just give up and vote for whoever looks the least shifty/most attractive/most in line with your racist opinions.

He also had a ten foot flag at Glastonbury with a Brighton flag at the top. Was a great chat and a really nice bloke, really friendly, and does a lot of away games. I’d recommend voting for him, as I’d trust him with my view.

Unless you’re standing behind him and his big flag?
