Kurt Cobain knocked the stuffing out of me

Marc Bolan,
I was 15 at the time and well into the glam music, when i saw his death announced on Newspaper hoarding i was completely dumbstruck thinking, it can't be true.
He was famous, he was a rock star, he was an idol, and people like that don't die, Well to a 15 year old they didn't and it was really the first time i physically realised that no one was immortal.

It's odd but for me the death that shocked more than any other was Gary Speed the ex international and manager of Wales. I still can't get my head around why someone who had so much to live for could kill themselves. Bowies death is a slight surprise but many more people die from cancer much younger.

Senna dying at Imola was a shock for me.

I will never forget that day, can remember it so vividly. If memory is correct, I'd gone to see Albion get stuffed 3-0 at Reading the day before, and getting into the car on the way back, heard Roland Ratzenberger had been killed.

Truly a grim weekend.

Agree with Rik Mayall, MJ and Kirsty MacColl.

The others that affected me were Terry Pratchett and Seve Ballesterous.
