2-1 home to Villa in 1972. Willie Irvine's goal came 3rd in MOTD goal of the season.

This for me too. I was there (as I have may have mentioned earlier, ahem).

But, actually, as someone who made his first visit to the Goldstone in 1969....today was the best. After the game kicked off, not for one second today did I think we would embarass ourselves. It was 90 minutes of pure pleasure. Long may it continue.

All of the above plus a win at Hull on a Tuesday night some time in the 90s when we were reduced to 9 men.

Got to agree that today was up there with the best and I started going to the matches in 1965! Mind you, beating Liverpool at Anfield in 1983 made me very happy too!

Liverpool @ Anfield FA Cup Feb 1983 has to be my fave, don’t think they had lost a home cup match for something like 15 years!

And yes, I was there.

All those mentioned but the results under Poyet away at Peterborough and Charlton are up there for me. We were absolute dynamite in those two games and, for me, that was the start of where we are now. It’s been bumpy along the way but those two games are right up there as great and unexpected Albion performances.

Love the blue and white tinted nostalgia.

Has Aaron Connolly already done enough to suggest strongly he is a more able footballer than Peter Ward ever was?
