Way out west
Ken Bates is a hard-nosed businessman, he would not have invested in Leeds purely for the love of football but because he sees the chance to make a profit. It is true that he is nothing like Archer and to be brutally honest I can't see it ending in tears, your ground will probably be redeveloped, the team will undoubtedly get back into the Premiership within a couple of seasons. Am I jealous that he chose Leeds and not a club like ours, not a bit, we are getting used to living life on a shoestring and enjoying, rather than expecting, the little bit of success that we have had in recent years.

I hope to see the Albion get into the Premiership, who doesn't, when it happens I know it will have been down to hard graft by the management, players and fans and not because some fairy godfather waltzed in through the door.

Do you honestly believe that Bates has done this for the good of Leeds ?, then you are a poor misguided fool, Bates has done this for Bates and no one else. Wether Leeds benefit is a point for discussion, but remember he brought Chelsea for a £1, made £80 million losses, and then a fairy russian godfather comes along and bails him out and he makes £20 million, not bad business for a money man. He is just like Archer, no place in Football for these people and the sooner people like that are kicked out the better.

and Leeds are my second team, so hope I am proved wrong

Of course I don't think he is in it for 'Leeds good' i think he is there solely for himself. But having had a Leeds fan in charge already who was in it for 'Leeds' benefit' I don't believe he can do any worse than him.

There is nothing left for him to sell/asset strip, so he can't sell the ground/players, etc fleece us and run. He put in his own personal money not financed/borrowed, and like I said, is he really that rich that he can afford to throw £10m away on a football club he had no real need to get involved in.

Ken Bates might be a complete moron (and yes I think he is, he has taken away our free corperate car parking space lol) but he has a ego the size of China, it won't and isn't boring with him in charge, he doesn't suffer fools glady, the leeches and dossers in the club won't get away with it anymore, he won't sit back and let people take advantage of the club ala Mandaric etc. And plus, nothing is nicer than seeing the Daily Mail journalist banished to the car park and banned from ER for crossing him ;)

I think this sums up exactly how far you have fallen. Not so long ago you would have been wondering about the Champions League games coming up next, but now you are reduced to gloating about being 6 points ahead of Brighton, and just 4 points off the play-offs.

No response from our visitor I notice...

Anyway-must go. I'm going to watch Yorkshire's BIG club play Arsenal in the FA Cup replay.
