I and many other believe that allot of the delays we've suffered were avoidable.
Right.

Tell us which of the delays could have been avoided if the football club had done something different.

If you can't produce a list, identify just ONE delay that could have been avoided by the Club doing something different.

Out of interest, something I have often wondered is this; had the architects comissioned to draw up the stadium plans not put part of the coach park over the boundary between Brighton & Lewes, would Lewes DC still have been able to challenge the development? Water under the bridge and all that, but just curious.

In planning terms, LDC's challenge was always based on a policy position that was intended to resist major development in the AONB, irrespective of whether it was their side of the boundary or not. The actual location of the coach park wasn't relevant to their case. And they never claimed it was.

Their challenge was ill-founded because they were misinterpreting national planning policy which DOES permit development in an AONB if certain criteria are met.

LDC also had a political agenda. They don't like football. And they don't like Brighton & Hove City Council.

Just far enough away from LDC

It's obvious. If the Albion had paid a Gazillion Dollars to the LDC to fund naked mud wrestling at the corn exchange for their own private enjoyment, they wouldn't have objected.

I blame Martin Perry for not seeing this.

Duh!

While you're here, Arthur ...

Any chance of a response to this?

Sorry I have a life that doesn't revolve around this board!

Yeah I'll answer.....we were pushed around by a Parish Council!!! Of course the delays were avoidable but as I've stated elsewhere it's not in Martin Perry or his team interest to get them sorted quickly is it!! I'm sure his pension fund is looking very handsome now!

But you haven't answered. You haven't said how the delays were avoidable. All you are doing is insinuating that they could have been avoidable. That isn't an answer.

Who asked you for your opinion..............oh NOBODY but you felt necessary to give it anyway!

Read it again, what part haven't I answered? You think any organisation with any clout what so ever would have been pushed around by Maud and Mable's knitting circle?

Why do I get the feeling I'm going round in circles??

:thud:

Is that it?

Good grief. Did you not notice that the parish council was supported by a district council, a publicly funded quango and a whole host of professional lobbyists?

If you can point us to the bit of planning law that says a developer can go ahead with building a major project regardless of the fact that planning permission hasn't been granted, we'd all be enlightened.
