Pork pie land.
I had the priviliedge of a Falmer tour today thanks to brighton 1 and what a fantastic experience.

This show is being run with superb professionalism from start to finish.

The stadium will be magnificent. It is really taking shape and the plans for the ground are staggering. The marketing is top notch and a huge amount of thought and effort has gone into it.

Thanks to Matt Dibble for the tour and we even bumped into head honcho Martin Perry.

I am proud of the Falmer team and everyone that has made this a reality, proud of Tony Bloom, Dick Knight, Martin Perry, Paul Samrah and Ed Bassford and all the Falmer team.

It is even better to see the superb and meticulous preparation going into the launch of the stadium.

Chelsea, Manure, pah we support the best team in the land.

This going to be something very special.

:falmer:

Great news.

(1 - you won't be partaking in the REMF ground tour raffle then after this freebie?)

(2 - You know that within 15 minutes of making a post on NSC you can edit that post and put right any mistakes you've made. Your post count would be about half if you did this as opposed to posting corrections seconds after the original post.)

Oh another pop from the " mod " how predictable and rather boring

I don't think that is his real name.

How many will they sell Simster ?.

League 1 - 8000
Championship - 12000

?
Championship, 16,000.

People underestimate how well run the club is. A professional club with roots in the community and vast untapped potential support and a shiny new ground to how off will manage to sell lots of season tickets.

One could say the same thing about your OTT reaction, tbh. I thought the second point in particular would be quite helpful to you.

Anyway, I'm going home. Ta ta. Mark my words, 16,000 season tickets if we're in the Championship. :bigwave:

Or rather a constructive post to save you from the numerous times that you immediately correct your post, often several times over per here, when you could just edit your original post and quickly put right the wrong.

(And I was wrong - you have 60 minutes in which to edit a post)

16,000 season tickets for season 1 at Falmer? No way Jose.

I think we will easily achieve 10-12k season tickets, more if we were to be promoted next season.I have so many mates who do not attend Withdean but want season tickets.I think a few people will be surprised by how many we sell.

Season tickets will be priced to get as many people back into the habit of going as is possible and so I would say 16,000 isn't at all out of the question, even in League One.

I'd love to believe that, I really would, but after years of paying ridiculous prices for Withdean, I'm still not convinced the club won't continue to take its existing season ticket holders for granted. I hope I'm wrong.

I'll believe that when I see it. 'I don't go because of the withdean' is the most over used AND unchallenged excuse for not attending games. The next one, when falmer opens, will be 'It's too expensive'.

Some of them are work colleagues and have been saving in seperate accounts,so in this case its true.

Sorry to say that that's the opposite of what people who've been have told me, ie that the bloke seemed completely disinterested and not up to the job. Agree with the rest though!

The have sold 900 odd of the 1000 platinum tickets I believe. What do we think the season ticket take up will be in 2011/2012 ?.

Are there not 2000 Platinum seats? I too was most impressed by how professional the set up for selling Falmer was. Just seen the post above by Notters and I have to strongly disagree, the few people I spoke to were enthusiastic, helpful and very professional.

If someone had asked me that a year ago I would have posted the same but now, I`m not so sure, after asking round the existing season ticket holders I know, there are numerous and surprising accounts of quite substantial endeavours by old and new fans to join up.

Ive even had an old mate who goes to about 5 or 6 matches a year and has never got a season ticket tell me he`s buying 2 for next season so he can guarantee himself 2 places in the theatre of dreams. I was gobsmacked cos he`s never bothered before. I`m sure there are loads out there like him. So 16,000, maybe not but wouldnt surprise me if it wasnt far short!

We would have to be in the championship though.

That's exactly my fear. We all know how outrageous Withdean has been, but people just don't like putting prices down.
