This is for real.

Went into Brighton pre match and then on to The Swan for about 1pm. Hadn't been there for about a year or so and was slightly surprised as it seemed much quieter than in the past, oh well. Left at around 1.50pm and headed across the footbridge (in the past stewards would try to dissuade you from this route) and through Falmer Village past the pond. We noticed a number of bods in the ubiquitous fluro jackets hanging around the lane before the right turn towards the ground and the farm shop. As we passed we enquired as to their purpose and were informed that it was to request that fans keep the noise down when going through the village.! Now I like a nice rural location, with ponds, ducks and spring etc but this is taking the pixx! Firstly there is no noise that I have ever been aware of, secondly so what if there is as it is not illegal to enjoy ones self, and lastly why are the club STILL paying for this shit? The stewards at the entrance to Falmer Village do not even have the right to turn cars away but still do. Amazing what the rich will try to get away with.

You are right they cannot legally turn you away. However if you push the point the club i believe, can and will refuse you entry!!

We won, they lost do we still need to rub their nose in it, they still live there why should they have to put up with lazy supporters trying to park their cars there

Not at all.

But stewards to do a job that does not exist? And if if the issue did exist it would be for maybe 30 mins every third week? Time the people of Falmer stopped whingeing, both their pub and farm shop have benefited immeasureably since the Albion arrived.

Farm shop lost 50% of its trade matchdays...However more than made up by matchday parking.

It's time you stopped finding something to whinge about. You're going to the right place for whinging. The Aussies are going to love you.

Brighton Marina Village
By far the most intrusive noise to be heard when walking through Falmer village is made, not by strolling football fans, but by the never-ending swish of traffic that roars day and night along the A27. As it has been for a couple of decades now.

Sadly, the idea of lovely old Falmer village as some kind of tranquil rural idyll is, these days, just an absurd fantasy – but one which was cynically and relentlessly peddled for all those wasted years by those flat-earth Falmer NIMBYs.

Tell you what, I'll stop whingeing if you stop trying to be the moral compass of NSC, can we do a deal?
