Falmer Stadium Plans.

Does anyone on here know if there are plans of Falmer available to see on the internet?
Or are they still secret? I have never seen the full plans for the stadium yet.

I remember seeing some very detailed plans of the stadium (in kind of blueprint form) at the first Public Inquiry when it was held at Hove Town Hall. Lots of detailed drawings from various angles, and an interesting side-on cross-section picture with all the stats, measurements etc. It really showed well how the stadium will be built into the hillside. Never actually seen those plans anywhere else in the public domain though.

Yeah I remember seeing those plans but have not seen any on the internet since.
Perhaps we will see them on the Albion official site when we get the final go ahead?

I've seen them years ago and had an electronic copy but sadly can't find it.

In particular I was impressed with the layout and plans for the main stand, the ground should have real character unlike these identikit stadiums of leicester, saints, etc.

From memory the main stand made up nearly half the grounds capacity, the end stands held about 2k each.

Will have another search at home later.

Wpuld they still have the plans at Hove Town Hall?

I was going to do my dissertation on the stadium, but when they asked if I wanted to see all 30,000(?) pages - I regretfully declined and chose another subject!

I would imagine they are not, but perhaps someone could confirm if they know.

Thats the slight worry for me.
It appears there is only a small single tier section of seating behind each goal, which looks a bit two-bob from the pictures I;ve seen.

So 23,000 seems inadequate, and we'll have a tin-pot, presumably cheap to construct stand at either end?

*taps nose*

Did I dream it was only going to be 12k capacity in the 1st phase?

It wasn't a dream, but where have you been since the announcement that the entire stadium would be built in a single phase?

The phased construction went out the window before the first public inquiry.

I was also interested about all the infrastructure plans too. About where all the new roads and paths are going etc etc.
If you can dig them out then that would be great.
I thought perhaps that Lord Bracknell might know if there are any available to see electronically.

Looking at our current crowds, and the no doubt massive increase in the cost now, I fully expect it to be re-introduced :(

Am i right in thinking although it's initially a 22,000 seater, we can in fact expand it to a higher capacity in nesseccary?

I think it would be possible to fill the corners and extend 1 end behind the goal. The club have not acknowledged any intention to do this for obvious reasons but I reckon we could probably extend to about 28k in theory.

I personally think 22k is adequate unless we are in the posistion of say Reading who are entending to about 38k on the back of premiership status !!!

I too think 22,000 is ample for now, but would be good if we were able to up the capacity for the future, as you never know.

I expect pigs will fly first but you never know safe standing may be introduced at football grounds in the future. This may increase capacities.

I would make it 65,000 all seater

With all these London fans who are going to give up watching their premiershite stuff with world class players etc, they will all flock to Brighton to see these superb local lads and we will need plenty of space to fit em.
