Fair enough. Although it would be nice if you could get a discount if you are able to produce a rail/bus ticket for the journey. There are a lot of people (not me I might add) that will already have paid for a season ticket to travel to Falmer and yet are being forced to buy another ticket?

I understand and fully support the concept of the travel voucher but there should be room for a bit of flexibility and common sense IMHO.

I'm puzzled. Why would you be forced to buy another ticket?

Yes that is part of the plan that got us permission.
As far as I can see the cheapest in this division is £18 (cue someone finding a cheaper one) so £4 for travel is not a bad thing.

£4 for travel.

If I already had a season ticket to travel to Falmer. Why should I have to pay an extra £4 for my ticket?

I still don't see where you are coming from.
As a season ticket holder you have a discount anyway and it works out at £19 a game but the travel vouchersaves me £2.60 either way on the train. So therefore I save money and will not be clogging up the road.
You are saying that if you buy a bus ticket (or train) then you should get a refund.
Why would you buy an additional travel ticket?

I thought the subsidy to the travel within the ticket was £2 and the assertion that tickets are way overpriced is rubbish. The tickets are probably about £1, maybe £2 absolute max over what they would be if we had 20,000 seats. By the time Falmer is built the price of a one-off match ticket for adults should be around £25-27 which will include some travel subsidy, so all in all its not too bad. They`ll also undoubtedly allow 2,000 seats or so to be discounted as a family end, adult pays full price, kid pays a fiver kind of deal, which they cant do at the moment so overall it certainly shouldnt be too expensive at all.

First of all I'm not assuming I have a Brighton season ticket.

Secondly if I live in Newhaven and work in Brighton and travel on the train to work everyday I will already have a ticket for the train. Then when I go to buy my Albion ticket I will, in affect, be paying for the train twice. Once as part of the train season ticket I already own and Twice becuase it is included in the price of my Albion ticket.

What I'm suggesting is if I already have a train or bus ticket (hence not clogging up the roads) I should be entitled to a discount on my Albion ticket as I'm not going to use the raod but I don't require a travel voucher.

clear?

Ah, now I see what you mean. I use the car for work so therefore being able to go to the match by train is a positive for me.

More likely there are hundred of Albion fans that commute to London on the train. Their season ticket will be valid to Falmer as vis Lewes is a valide route to London. Why should they pay for a travel voucher they don't require even though they have no intention of going by car.

The idea of the travel voucher is to encourage people to use public transport. Excellent idea. I'm less likely to use my car if I have a 'free' ticket on the train. However if I already have a 'free' ticket on the train I'm not likely to go by car in the first place.

Me too, and I say again I think it is a good idea. However I'd be a bit miffed if I was paying twice.

I will probably get one, but probably when the ground opens.

If the club are going to ask people to buy season tickets for Falmer before it has opened then that is up to them and some people may go for it.

Personally, No.

But there is more opportunity to subsidise the cheaper seats with exacutive boxes and comfy seats on the halfway line.

I'd like to see pricing something like this;

behind goal £15/20
on the sides near the ends £22/32
Near the halfway line £30/40
box £???

I've given two prices as I believe we should catagorise the games (like we should do at Withdean). This will maximise the profits for the 'big' games and also make having a season ticket more attractive.

The question for me is not 'if' but more of 'how many', assuming that they don't price me out of the market by wanting to take my kids!

Well, I am amazed that everyone who has a Withdean season ticket intends to buy one at Falmer, according to the poll results. Always thought that the season ticket take up at Withdean had a large number of people who bought one just to guarantee they could get in. The club will be fecking delighted if this poll is true

I'm saving up already but i want to enjoy 4 more yrs of away matches first then i'll be ready to 'retire' at the Prescott Stadium.

I'm still convinced 23'000 won't be enough
