I did ask Dick this and couldn't get a straight answer out of him - he wasn't sure what the limits on *volume* would be...!

Lets face it give it a year and the timing orders will be removed.

Unlikely in the UK all gigs seem to have to finish at 23:00 hrs when outdoors unless at a festival.

Porcupine Tree should play, as the only progressive band around. They will also be much more famous by the time the stadium is finished.

NMH has speaked.

Only progressive band around other than Mostly Autumn, Spocks Beard, Marillion, Magenta, Kino, Pendragon, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Anathema, Dream Theater, Kid Galahad, Nektar, etc...etc...etc...

Porcupine Tree have consistently released decent albums for the last ten years, yet remain on the fringes of alt. rock. I can't really see them becoming much bigger in the future than they are now.

Sounds like a good idea for big events, but for smaller gigs and comedy I'd still rather go into town where I can go to a decent pub before and after, and have a choice of cheap transport home rather than getting a train AND bus home, or relying on a cab.
Let's face it, who can't get home to almost anywhere from the Old Steine.

Which is the loudest rock band these days? :lolol:

The Stereophonics nearly blasted my ears off at the Dome at the end of August, but that was indoors, but they were very good. Perhaps they could bring an extra-large amplifier and put it under the South Stand.

The First gig could be a benefit gig for the poor people of Falmer. Their £2m houses and cars and business interests will all have lost value as Falmer becomes a no go area for people other than Hoodies, Yardies, Murderers, rapist, perverts but worst of all low life scum called Football fans!

The line up could be Val Doonican, Cliff Richard (gospel set only - and yes the fatty taxman and friends will be asked to leave again just like all those years ago) The friends of Falmer Parish council male voice choir, the Norman Baker appreciation quartet (possibly solo slot instead) and Attila. It will all be played very quietly so as not to drown out the sound of traffic and trains but low alcohol beer will be available in recyclable plastic cups.

I only wanted Falmer so I can eat the resident's babies.
