When we finally build Falmer what do you think our average gates will be in the Championship.I reckon we might sell out at a few games but average only about 13000.

Average 14-17k, there are some games that might attract somewhat more (Leeds, Sunderland, West Ham etc) because their away support is so large, add that to the home interest in a big game. There are also a number of teams who would probably not be considered in the same bracket (Crewe, Rotherham, Watford) who might attract somewhat less.

All those predicting 14k+. Were you watching the Albion in the late 80's? 10k+ was a good crowd, even in this division. We have been without a decent ground for so long now we have lost a lot of potential supporters and will need time to bring these back to the fold. And yes I know we took 30k Cardiff, but how many of those people will want to watch 20 odd games a season? I hope you're right, but personally think it will be several years before we can average above 14 unless we get into the prem early on.

The last few seasons at the Goldstone involved a lot of boycotting due to Lloyd if my memory serves me right. After the last few years a truly believe we will average 15000+ which is what Reading get and I feel we have more passionate and generally more fans than them

I erred on the side of pessimism with my prediction for 14-17k, there have been times over the past few years where we would probably have had the occasional crowd in that range, the last few games of last season or the two Championship seasons perhaps. What I don't take into account is the fact that since we left the Goldstone over seven years (it really is that long) ago, football has increased in popularity, many clubs who have moved to new grounds have seen their attendances increase, I would be amazed if this doesn't happen to us too.

Indeed, Sunderland being a good example; from 20k-odd at Roker Park to 40+ at the SOL, although this has dropped since relegation.

I think the whole thing will depend on price and accessibility, whether there will be bars and tv to watch lunchtime sky games etc.

Plus Southampton who have virtually doubled their crowds since leaving the Dell, think Middlesborough, Derby and Bolton also increased theirs considerably by moving.

Know what you mean there, stood in the North Stand on a miserable wet day I always wondered why anyone would want to stand on the East Terrace getting soaked to the bone.

plymouth tend to get between 10 to 20k depending on how they are doing and who they are playing.this season they've had an average of about 16000 and i dont think we'd be to far from that probably an average of 14 or 15,000
