It's common practice. We did similar while potter was at Swansea.

Can we do the smallest amount of due diligence, please?

The account that posted that on Twitter had no tick, and only twenty followers. It's clearly a load of rubbish.

Be interesting to know what emojis were traded in the exchanges. A few lol face ones about the dastardly plans, a facepalm one about the booing at Leeds...

If you had looked at the tweet, you'd have seen it had zero credibility. Simply adding question marks to the thread title doesn't mean you're not spreading misinformation.

It's a shame it isn't common practice to do the simplest amount of due diligence before spreading nonsense.

And no, I didn't 'dismiss out of hand', I did what you should have done. I looked at the tweet. Saw it was a clearly fake account (spelt wrong/no tick/twenty followers) and acted accordingly.

Wind your neck in.

It’s time Twitter implemented some way of distinguishing fake accounts from real accounts.

Maybe they could do something like letting people/companies “Verify” themselves as real and then displaying something next to their username to show everyone that they’re the real account. For example, a blue tick. Hopefully this would stop people falling for obvious bollocks. Oh wait
